.....if you have any rust left over or water gets to the are you cleaned, rust will come thru. I followed the "directions" and used various methods....some homemade to clean the rusted area around the drain. Let dry and then applied several coats letting a dry time of around 15-20 between coats. It all looked good though the white was slightly brighter than the tub, the main concern was covering the rust. We let the paint cure for 72 hours before using the shower. The job was done about 6 weeks ago.

The rust has slowly returned and coming thru the paint. I'll have to redo the area around the tub. This time I'm going to apply some Rust Inhibitor/Primer first and then the paint or something else. I can understand the two part Epoxy but this seems to needa "rust primer" first to fully work. Maybe for certain projects that are not so contantly in contact with water/moisture it works fine.

i used it as instructed and it worked great, patching a quarter-size spot where the enamel had chipped off. color matched my white tub great. i tried using a disposable foam brush for the first coat since another reviewer recommended that but i found the included brush worked better on 2nd and 3rd coat. product levels out when applied, i had no problem getting an even coat. remember to sand away any rust before you apply and it needs to dry for several days. for many years i have used only rust-oleum paints/bed liners on my trucks and other metal projects and they hold up great (i wouldn't use anything else), so i expect this product will also last, but i will update this review if it doesn't.

unfortunately the product i received appeared to have been sitting on a shelf for a decade or two. the alcohol-based portion of the mix had seeped out and was unusable. Guess that's one reason not to buy something like this online; there didn't seem to be any quality control when they shipped it to me.

Used the Rustoleum Tub and Tile Restoration kit and LOVED it! Wanted to purchase this Touch Up kit to have on hand for any future mishaps on my newly refinished tub. When the Touch Up kit arrived, it had leaked everywhere. Amazon would not allow me to return this item because it was a hazardous item. My one star rating is reflective of the poor packaging and being unable to return it for a refund.

Perfect. The instructions don't make it clear, but you CAN sand this. I repaired a chipped portion of porcelain. I sanded between coats. Yes, I used two coats. But the mixed material will not last in the container, so apply the second coat within a few hours. I used 320 grit sanding block to polish the final results. Came out great.

Touch up worked great for covering up damaged area of tub. I would not recommend the included brush since it seems to put the paint on thick. I used a sponge paint brush instead and was able to put on better finish. Paint did a good job of filling in pitting and chips.

Our white acrylic kitchen sink recently developed 2 chips, and I wanted to try to repair them rather than have the whole sink replaced. I knew this product was available, and was pleased to find that Amazon had it. It's a little bit of a process to use this porcelain paint: There are 2 jars of different fluids, each of which must be agitated for 5 minutes, following which the 2 are combined and agitated for another 5 minutes. There is a little brush inside the lid of the jar in which the 2 fluids are combined, which is nice. The sink must be thoroughly washed and dried, and then the touch-up paint can be applied, with maybe 15 minutes wait time between coats. The biggest drawback is that the sink then can't be used for 3 days, because the chip has to be kept dry while the paint cures. Also, this is a really bright white, so it's discordant against an older sink until it fades. I have no idea how long fading will take, but a spot of bright white beats a black spot any day. Since I just applied this product this week, I can't speak to the longevity of the repair. Also, the remainder of the product has to be discarded within a day or 2, because it hardens, so you can't keep the extra around in case someone re-chips your sink.

This is a one-shot deal. Mix the two bottles and you have 24 hours to use it. Throw the rest away. There's quite a bit of product here, so search out multiple dings before you begin. Or ask the neighbors if they have dings too.

You can build up multiple layers to fill a deep ding. Just paint on additional layers at 20-30 minute intervals. Then use 320 sandpaper wrapped around a wooden sanding block to level it off.

There's white and there's white. In this case the repair kit was whiter than the sink, and the patch is quite visible. That's why I gave it only three stars.
