lousy can,

This review is from: Rust-Oleum 245215 Universal Advance Formula Spray Paint, Gloss Espresso Brown, 12-Ounce (Tools & Home Improvement)
Paint is excellent, but the "trigger style" can is pure junk! You have to use 2 hands to pull the trigger in order to spray the paint. I purchased 2 cans from A.C. Moore and needed 1 or 2 more to finish the job. The last and final can worked perfectly!!! Whoever the college boy who designed this applicator should try out his own design and then go back to school !!!

Good paint if you get a good one, blotchy if you don't,

This review is from: Rust-Oleum 245213 Universal Advance Formula Spray Paint, Gloss Canary Yellow, 12-Ounce (Tools & Home Improvement)
Ordered two can of the Canary Yellow. The first can did not flow well despite shaking it up for 2-3 minutes. Left large blotches. This ticked me off, so I tried the second can. This one flowed quite smoothly and saved the day.
Be aware that both cans made tremendous, unbeliveable amounts of overspray. Literally huge clouds of paint and propellant. Cover up anything in the room that you don't want covered with overspray.

This review is from: Rust-Oleum 245214 Universal Advance Formula Spray Paint, Gloss Hunter Green, 12-Ounce (Tools & Home Improvement)
Most of these reviews of this paint are critical of the spray trigger. I wonder if they noticed that you have to remove the red safety pin than is on the trigger. You have to slide the whole thing off.
After that, I thought the new trigger sprayer was excellent. It allowed me to spray with nice even strokes with better control than the old button-top design. If you have ever rattle-can painted with multiple cans, you know how sore the tip of your finger can get. This new design eliminates that AND since my finger doesn't get sore, I can do a better job of painting. I repainted a fiberglass canoe and the laydown was gorgeous. You cannot tell it was painted with a rattle-can. The coverage is excellent. The coler tints seem to match well from can to can without any noticeable change in shading. It sanded well between coats and it penetrated even the insides of tiny thin hairline details. This paint is about twice the price as a good rattle-can paint. I would say that the application was excellent both from a paint standpoint and from a mechanical sprayer standpoint. It took about seven cans of paint to give the 17 foot canoe two coats plus some extra on the high-wear parts. We will have to see how it holds up with use.
