Is it possible Rustoleum designed this product and never tested it?

It did come out if I held it upside-down, but this was awkward and I couldn't spray it evenly.

I bought three cans of this expensive spray paint and wasted much of it. The sprayers not only dont work well, all three cans broke and I had to manually hold the sprayer on while pushing the release. Paint was everywhere. They need to rethink their new idea

I had the same issue as other reviewers. I went ape s!@# shaking the can. No one on earth shook it more than I did. But the paint STILL hardly came out. It was just losing the compressed air. It did come out if I held it upside-down, but this was awkward and I couldn't spray it evenly. On that note, yes it seems like it would take a bit of practice to spray evenly, if you're looking for the consistent "hammered" effect without running. So my wood piece looked like crap and I had to sand it, re-prime, and re-paint.

Rustoleum, TAKE OUR ADVICE. DITCH THE CRAPPY NOZZLE. YOU'RE RUINING GOOD PAINT. Remember, 1 complaint equals 1000 people who were too lazy to complain.

Luckily as some have said, you can rip it off and attach a regular trusty basic nozzle. Still, buy their cheaper metallic silver paint instead. This one worked better for me, and actually was $5 in my big box store, not $8 as online here.

Is it possible Rustoleum designed this product and never tested it? This new can design is terrible! I wish I had read more reviews before purchasing 2 cans of the hammered brown. One can wouldn't even spray without my begging and pleading and cradling it just right. The other can sprayed okay at first and then got really finicky and patchy and started to spit. UGH! Frustrating!
Rustoleum, you need to fix this product! Perhaps you could pull all the cans currently on the shelves and donate them to graffiti artists worldwide; our cities and buildings would stay paint free!

I bought this product based on the Rust-Oleum name.

The spray mechanism on this product looks like a great idea - but it doesn't work well at all.

You would think that a company of this size would test their products - I can't believe anyone at Rust-Oleum has used this spray can - if they had - they would have tossed it in the garbage.

It looks great on the shelf - it should stay there.

This product is horrible. Bought 2 cans of Silver color hammered finish paint. Shook each can for a few minutes before painting. The temperature at painting time was about 70 degrees and I was painting indoors so there was no wind. I was painting aluminum flat stock and angles. I sanded and cleaned the aluminum so the paint should have had no problems applying in an even coat.
The paint came out of the can very unevenly. I had to shake it as I painted to get the hammered texture to come out of the can, otherwise I was left with a flat silver or nonpainted finish. This resulted in an uneven covering of hammered and nonhammered finish combined with both thick and runny paint in places. The second can would have been enough to at least finish the first coat of my project, except the trigger decided to leak and thickly paint my finger.

Back to the drawing board Rust-Oleum. Fix the hammered texture paint delivery out of the can and go back to the old spray top.

The paint is a terrible product. I used it on wood, prepped and primed the wood beautifully. When I applied this paint the actual spray can worked just fine, however the end result is bad in several ways: 1) the hammered-look was only on about 10% of the entire surface area 2) the color had terrible streaks, even though I know how to use spray paint. 3) it's impossible to fix. I re-sanded it, bought some more cans and re-did the entire project: same result.

Stay away from this entire product line, the product is just not good.
