Chalky!!!,
This review is from: Rust-Oleum 249058 Painter's Touch Multi-Purpose Spray Paint, White Primer, 12-Ounce (Tools & Home Improvement)
My prep for a furniture piece I've been working on was as I've always done it. Clean, sand, tack cloth...not dust. Prime. This primer, after 24 hours was as chalky as if I had sanded it and had not cleaned it. Coverage was spotty. Will purchase another brand to go over it and hope that it bonds better after I sand off and clean off the dust from this one. Very disappointed. A waste of my time and money!

Krylon is better.....,
This review is from: Rust-Oleum 249058 Painter's Touch Multi-Purpose Spray Paint, White Primer, 12-Ounce (Tools & Home Improvement)
I'm a 20 year user of Krylon primer, for everything. I picked up the Rustoleum product because I was buying some of their paint items and thought I would give it a try.I first used it on two light oak barstools I got at Goodwill. I sanded them lightly and sprayed on the Rustoleum. The first thing I noticed was how quickly the can disappeared, on just two stools. I had to spray the stools in several sessions to get full coverage without sags and drips. I used Rustoleum Painter's Touch in black semi-gloss (they were out of the flat...) and I noticed in the paint cup that the paint was getting a gray residue in the cup as I painted and dipped the brush back into the cup. This is after I let the stools sit overnight to dry! Then I sprayed an outdoor wooden bench (after sanding). The Rustoleum (what was left from my bar stools)just kind of sank into the wood and didn't seem to make a good primer base at all. I finished up with my Krylon gray primer and THAT did a good job, first pass spray, no running or sagging or pooling. I was so disappointed in the Rustoleum primer's coverage that I just sprayed over that with the Krylon. Pass on this primer, it's just not a good buy. In my opinion it doesn't have 2x the coverage, it acts like it has even less than the Krylon, in fact. I'm not sure whether to suspect the primer or the paint for the fact that when I did a fine knockdown sand on the sixth coat of color, chunks of paint and primer came off down to the wood........Krylon never did that to me!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

two coats-covered the newsprint on my project entirely and sealed for Rust-Oleum metallic spray. I had to go buy a second can though due to the nature of the project. I purchased the exact same primer---I liked it and had zero issues with the can functioning.
