Color: Bronze Medal
I've used this Rust-Oleum's Bronze Medal paint for three projects, including: 1) the creation of accent designs in my bathroom, 2) to repurpose a wooden chest, and 3)to makeover several plastic planters that were a beige and green in color.

The color is rich and shimmery -- just a bit of light touching the paint dazzles the eye. While I love the color, and will likely use the product again, the user needs to be aware that while this is a fairly substantial, thick paint multiple coats will likely be required and the paint is easily scratched.

Multiple coats may be required -- The Bronze Medal is a rich shade of brown. I used Bulls Eye 1-2-3 white primer on the wooden chest and on some of the beige planters. It took no less than four coats to cover all of the white on the chest and the planters I had primed. In the bathroom, I was painting over a terra cotta color and decided not to prime; the Bronze Medal nearly covered the terra cotta color, but I still had employ two coats on the project. So, if using the Bronze Medal for your project and you decide to prime, avoid using a white primer.

Easily scratched -- I experienced scratching on all surfaces that I used this paint, including plaster, wood, and plastic. I would have expected the plastic to be easily scratched so I used Rust-Oleum's clear top coat in an effort to make the planters more resilient -- no such luck. I did not use clear top coats in the bathroom or on the chest. My husband placed a box on the chest and a strip of paint came off when he moved it. In the bathroom, little hands touching the wall have also removed paint.

I like this paint. I really do. I wish it were a little more hardy.

Color: Gold Mine
My son wanted a "golden room" so I agreed to doing one wall. They recommend a roller with a 1/4 inch nap for the job. I was covering a light teal wall and figured the gold would be thick enough, fine for coverage and I wouldn't need to prime it. I was wrong. Primer would have been worse to cover the wall. I would recommend (if you're painting an entire wall) to first paint it a light brown or a deep tan to better color match the gold. You might get better coverage. I rolled 3 layers on and still needed to do more. I ended up using one of those foam pad applicators and this gave me much more even and consistent (and quicker!) coverage. The wall ended up looking great but you do have to develop a certain finesse to cover it properly. It passed the 6 year old test anyway! It was also the only gold paint that I found that you could really use to paint an entire wall.

Color: Sterling Silver Verified Purchase
I used this paint to stencil one wall in my guest room. The color is a dark silver with a metallic sheen. The color went on the wall really nicely and was quite pigmented. After painting the wall, I still have a good 3/4 of the can left, will have to come up with another project!

Color: Gold Mine
I wanted a metallic sheen in my bath over a perfectly boring sand-colored paint job. But I'm installing silver mirrors and cabinetry and the blah paint just wasn't going to cut it. I've tried Sherwin Williams metallic paint ($$$) and wasn't real impressed. Plus this paint doesn't have the greatest reviews either. I decided to give it my own recipe of mixing the metallic (& reducing some of that high-powered sheen). I simply mixed it with Dutch Big's water-based glaze, used a small-map roller a d kept my seams blended. So far two coats and I love it! Can't wait to add the crystal chandelier fixture, mirrors, etc. I think this paint will wear fairly well as is but I might just give it a quick clear coat to be certain. Jrustoleum pulls through once again, albeit modified.

Color: Black Garnet
I am using different colors of this paint for accents around my home and to paint accessories for a wedding. I'm using Black Garnet (which is actually a purplish color), Luminous Pear, Copper Penny, and Warm Copper. The paint is on the thin side and water based so unless you want the streaky look, you will need a couple of coats. I strongly recommend using a base color similar to what you want the final color to be. I tried to paint some white picture frames with the Copper Penny color and it took 4 coats for the coverage I was after. But they look great. On the other hand, a single coat of Black Garnet over a black base coat gives a streaked appearance that is quite attractive. The salesperson at the big box store where I purchased this strongly recommended using a clear protective top coat. I will do that for things that see some use like side tabletops, but the picture frames are fine without protection. The colors are stunning and I hope they come out with an aqua, a true black and a pink. :-)

Color: Classic Bronze Verified Purchase
None of my bedroom furniture matches, and I want that cohesive look without buying new furniture.

So far I have painted a wooden dresser and a fake "brass" bed from the80s
with the Metallic Accents Classic bronze.

The paint goes on smooth, and both pieces look fabulous! The color is very modern and paired with "brushed nickle" hardware (i.e. exisiting hardware painted with Rustoleum Professional stainless steel spray paint), it makes older pieces look young and fresh.
