5.0 out of 5 stars A little piece about RUST IN PEACE, March 17, 2006
By
This review is from: Rust in peace: South Pacific battlegrounds revisited (Hardcover)
Whether in striking black and white or vivid color, the photography of Bruce Adams tells the story of WWII in the South Pacific in terms of the aftermath of the destruction to these beautiful islands and the lives of the local residents.
Published in Australia in 1975, this 238 page volume contains a treasure of facts as well as photos. The only thing lacking seems to be an index, but isn't it more fun to
discover a reference to Navy Lt. John F. Kennedy's rescue, or Emma Coe, the early American-Samoan trading Queen, than to search for their names in the index? Informative and artistic, this would be a thoughtful addition to one's library.
