"Rustic" presents a selection of sumptuous retreats in spectacular natural settings, from Maine to California. The photographs are large and lovely, and the text is a lucid mix of architectural and social history. I particularly appreciated the inclusion of a number of modern homes, from the 1930s up through the present, that demonstrate how the rustic esthetic has evolved to encompass much more than the traditional imagery of stuffed animals mounted over rocky fireplaces.

GORGEOUS BOOK,LOVE IT. WONDERFUL HISTORY OF THE HOMES AND GREAT CAMPS. THE PICTURES ARE BEAUTIFUL. ANYONE WHO BUILDS OR IS IN THE PROCESS WOULD LOVE THIS BOOK,SO MANY IDEAS OF USING NATURAL MATERIALS.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK,WONDERFUL FOR THE COFFEE TABLE TOO!
