Good, but pity about his Electronic Gizmo on 3 Tracks.,

Rusty turns in a generally fine performance on these six tracks, with fine support from the accompanying musicians. My one reservation is his use of a Conn/Multidivider on 3 tracks, that neutralises his tone, Lessening my enjoyment of his playing. Nevertheless he is a good Groovy performer who deserves to be better known!

Quite frankly, I did not know that Rusty could blow and swing as good as the CD's I recently purchased. You see I knew Rusty back in the early fifties in Boston. I know that he is from Columbus, Ohio and I am also from Youngstown, Ohio. We met in Boston back then and hung out for a short time before Rusty left to pursue his illustrious career. I have not seen nor heard from him until I discovered his music through Amazon Jazz Music.I appreciate this swinging music and love it. Thanks for sounds. For those who like to dance, buy his CD's. |
