5.0 out of 5 stars Addicting, smooth punk.
This is some of the best punk around. It is incredibly smooth. Nice beats on bass, very fast drums, intricate guitar work, and a vocalist that really carries the entire band with a great punk voice. This CD is very addictive, I can't stop listening to it.Excellent Christian lyrics make this album even better. If you like Craig's Brother, Ghoti Hook, Homegrown,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Outrageously overrated
Slick Shoes is one of the most overrated pop punk bands out there today (and most pop punk bands are overrated). The only thing that even makes them worth listening to is the tight musicianship and rad guitar leads. The music is not bad at all, but it is very average, and I just don't see how people can call this one of the best new school punk bands. There are...

5.0 out of 5 stars Speechless, July 24, 2004
This review is from: Rusty (Audio CD)
This cd is superior. This is the type of cd that raises the bar so high in every way that every other band needs to put out at least twice as much effort to make anything decent. The guitar work on this cd is simply mind-blowing. Guitarist Jackson Mould singlehandedly raised the bar so high that the band's future guitarists still haven't quite reached it yet.--Not that they are not great guitarists with their own unique contributions. The drumming of Joe Nixon works in perfect tandem with Mould's guitaring, a hard trick to pull especially with such consistently fast-paced music. Not only is it in pefect timing, but also is innovative and intricate in every fill, break, and verse. Jeremiah Brown's bassing adds the perfect flavor behind every guitar note and creates the emotional factor that seems to support the whole band. Brown manages to find notes that reach into your heart rather than always just playing the same chords as the guitar. Ryan Kepke's singing and songwriting leads the band perfectly. It is as if everything the music is saying in itself is being brought to light in the melodies and lyrics. Perfect complementing amongst band members. wow

I love this cd!!!! It's so rad! I like this one better than burn out, but burn out is good, too. Slick Shoes RULE!!!!! If you like punk, this is an excellent Christian cd to get. They have good lyrics and catchy songs. They sound quite a bit like mxpx, but personally, I like this better than mxpx. It's so awesome!! Buy this cd!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you like fast punk, you can't get a better buy than this!, June 6, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Rusty (Audio CD)
OH YEAH! I love this cd. one day I was surfing the web and I found this band called slick shoes, and relized (exept for mxpx) that they were my fav band. I think that this is their best cd.

this is how I would rate the songs

feeble: great way to start off the cd. 9/10
cliche: very catchy song. 8/10
regrets: great song with a nice intro on the drums. 8/10
rusty: this is my least favorite song on the cd, but it is still great. The only song that is mostly pop punk on the cd. 7/10
Joe's sick: You can't get better than this! 10/10
proved me wrong: another raging song that is great! 9/10
Father son picnic: my personal favorite song on the cd. It is a great song with a great gutair solo at the end! 11/10!!!
losing sight: a great song but after father and son picnic you really can't compare. the gutair is very soft. 8/10
fall: a great song that I think really picks up after losing sight. 9/10
Walk out: another raging song like the last 9. what can I say?! 9/10
Bounce: a very catchy song that is a bit different tham the others 9/10
Last: another one of my favorites.I just love it how slick shoes puts so much effort into each of their songs, not just put in fillers! 10/10
By what right: I think these guys could be put in the gineuss book of world records for fastest speaking in this song, but it is still great! 10/10
Tired of you: and they keep raging on. About being tired of someone ignoring you all the time so you let them go. 10/10
what happens next: a great song, but not as good as the last three. 8/10
Represent: I think the best way to end off a cd is to just race on some more. great fast song! 9/10

I overall give this cd a 10/10 rating.
every single song on this cd is fast, raging punk!
buy this cd!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best Christian punk bands I have ever heard., December 11, 1998

Slick Shoes is a band I could listen to forever. Too many people compare them to Mxpx. This albums catchy guitar riffs and extremely fast drumming gives Slick Shoes a sound all their own. I recommend this CD to any loyal punk fan ( Christian or not ) Watch out for Slick Shoes in the future.

This album is awesome. Right from the beginning this CD starts in fast and hard with "Feeble". It continues straight through with great melodic punk. If you like Slick Shoes, you should also check out the band Classified Blind, also another great melodic punk band with an incredible sound.

5.0 out of 5 stars Slick Shoes, the best band ever?, December 9, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Rusty (Audio CD)
Slick Shoes, these guys are probably the best band I have ever heard. There is so much truth in everything they write about. The music fits the lyrics entirely, well, in a few songs, the music is a bit harder than it should be, but this is still the best punk rock record I have ever heard. The song "Last" is the best song I have ever heard. This band is incredibly talented, and this record has the perfect sound. These guys are christian as are many bands on tooth and nail records, and I think thats really great. Its great that theyre enjoying some success while staying true to themselves and their morals. To summarize, this record has the emotion and feelings of a face to face or jawbreaker record, and music which sounds like a cross between Strung Out, and MxPx. This record is hard to come by, because it doesn't get distributed very well, so you should hurry up and buy it, cuz chances are it isn't gonna be in very many stores.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Cd, June 13, 2000
This review is from: Rusty (Audio CD)
This is definitly one of my greatest CD's. It has smooth melodical(?) punk, with great lyrics. For a punk band, they have about the best skill i have ever heard, and their guitarist--Jackson i think-- is amazing. This album is a great buy, wether you are new to punk, or a life-long fan, i can almost guarantee you will love it!
