This book is outstanding! This 1986 hardbound first edition won The Photography Book of the Year award from Friends of Photography which features creamy text papers imported from Paris and each reproduction was supervised by Ansel Adams personal printer in LA. However, the dust jacket of the first edition is very fragile. An upgraded version with a reinforced dust jacket was published in 2005 by the same publisher - Photography West Graphics - to celebrate Bernhard's 100th birthday. It is referred to as The Centennial Edition. New dust jackets for this book are still available for $10 from the publisher, if you need to replace it. You can tell which version of this book is either a rare first edition (out of print for decades) or centennial edition (currently $95) - by the dusty rose dust jacket with embossed silver lettering on a hardcover edition that is shown here, because new publishers have released less costly paperback versions of this book, printed in Asia and created black and white covers.
