Book Description

July 7, 2005
It s no accident my sister carried the can. That murder was organised like a military exercise by experts. Ruth was hand picked. And she shielded those people who'd picked her ...the ones who promised her she wouldn't die. Muriel Jakubait, sister of Ruth Ellis Who was the mysterious third man who pulled the trigger? Ruth Ellis was the last woman to be hanged in Britain, convicted 50 years ago for shooting her lover David Blakely. The case became notorious and was made into a successful film, "Dance with a Stranger". The story that has held ever since is of a peroxided tart who killed her man out of jealousy. But crucial questions were left unasked in the original trial, and the whole case reeks of an Establishment cover-up. Ruth Ellis' sister, Muriel, knew her better than anyone and has always sought to prove she was not guilty. Now she is able to reveal crucial evidence about how a third man pulled the trigger for the fatal shots. A man who was part of a web of British secret agents into which Ruth Ellis fell long before. And at the heart of these new findings is the startling evidence that Ruth was being run by Dr Stephen Ward, at least a decade before his name became public in the infamous Profumo Affair. Muriel reveals the full story about her and her sister's abused childhood. She shows Ruth as somebody damaged at a very early age who strove to make something of herself, only to be caught up in something much bigger and end up paying with her life.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bizarre book, December 3, 2010

This review is from: Ruth Ellis (Paperback)
This was one of the most bizarre books I have ever read. I had never heard of this case. Then one night I watched, 'Dance with a Stranger' and became interested in the case.

I don't know what to think about Ruth's sister who wrote this book except that she wrote the book hoping to make some serious money. The book becomes ludicrous as she even drags Prince Philip into the picture. I kept reading wondering if there was a shred of truth to this and ended up throwing the book in the trash.

It is a very disturbing book as she tells page after page of the details of being sexually molested by her own father claiming that Ruth Ellis actually had a baby by him that was put up for adoption. My stomach was turning as I kept reading it. Of course, Ruth Ellis' parents are dead and cannot defend themselves as is Ruth.

I concluded that the sister wrote this book clearly to make money for herself. As I said, the book had such graphic detais of her father molesting her that I ended up throwing the book in the trash as I was afraid my young son would read it.

I did find an out of print paperback by Ruth's daughter who ended up being adopted by two doctors which was interesting.

I give this book ONE star.
