This review is from: The Rutherford Cipher (Hardcover)
Dr. Rawling's book was great, although I wished the ending had been different. However, the detail about the confederacy was extremely detailed and interesting. I can tell he did a ton of research on that.

A local friend that works for William Rawlings recommended this to me after she found out that I am an avid reader. I bought this book as a courtesy to her. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. I loved it. A real page turner. The historical aspect of it, along with the character development made it extremely enjoyable. I can't wait to read his next book.

Lost Confederate Gold and Murder, what more can you ask?,

This review is from: The Rutherford Cipher (Hardcover)
Mr. Rawlings has written a good little mystery here that will keep you turning the pages until you have read it all in one sitting. I did. This is the story of an old Southern family, a secret about the lost Confederate treasury and a few modern day murders added to the mix. Plus there is a love story winding through the pages.
Matt Rutherford returns to Walkerville, GA tO attend his aunt's funeral. He is down on his luck, out of a job and broke. To his dismay he find that his Aunt, a famous Civil War historian, has left her entire estate consisting of an old mansion, 1800 acres of prime timber land, some rare Civil War manuscripts including a mysterious cipher, and several hundred thousand dollars to Matt and his drugged out cousin. When the cousin turns up dead in the mansion, Matt is accused of the murder and the fun begins. Mr. Rawlings second book THE RUTHERFORD CIPHER is a book you will enjoy.
