5.0 out of 5 stars Great resource for vascular trainees, February 17, 2006

Although daunting to start with, this is a comprehensive and easy to read reference for vascular surgery. A must have for all current and aspiring vascular trainees, or even part-timers who have a keen interest in this expanding field.

For an aspiring trainee such as myself, it has been difficult to find such an up to date reference that covers the background to difficult subjects like basic sciences and fundamentals to endovascular surgery, as well as in depth discussions on other vascular staples like carotids, chronic limb ischaemia etc.

Although initially worried about the size and cost, am DEFINITELY glad that I took the plunge and bought this for myself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding reference, November 9, 2004
This is the largest reference in vascular surgery available. The authors are world-wide well-known pioneers and teachers in the vascular and endovascular surgery. The book covers the whole spectrum of vascular surgery. The chapters are well written and nicely illustrated. The refereces are up to date. Every surgeon who is involved in the management of patients with vascular diseases would find this book an outstanding source of knowledge. Vascular surgeons in training must buy and read this great book. The established vascular surgeon would welcome this book as a comprehensive reference. This book is highly recommended. Certainly, it is a 5 stars book, and buying it is a valuable bargain.

The only vascular surgery text needed. It gets heavier and thicker with each edition. The MAIN thing that keeps me buying new editions is that the complete searchable textbook, complete with charts and tables, is available over the internet. I NEVER need to carry the book with me, and the searching ability is excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kindle edition has no online access!, February 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book is absolutely great, a must have for anyone preparing for a board exam in vascular surgery. However I bought it expecting - or lead to expect by the title "... expert consult: print and online", that I will have access to online updates, extended bibliographies and other content. It is not provided!

The professionals(authors & editors) to professionals(readers).
That's it.

Those who had previous editions in hand know what I'm talking about.
As someone (You all know who)said:" I' ll be back"

I am still not with the book after 13 days of ordering.
I wish I could mark five stars instead of five questions.
The condition of the book shall be the last thing that I can be concerned.
