5.0 out of 5 stars BAY AREA GROUP REPRESENTS TO THE FULLEST
RUTHLESS BY LAW IS ONE OF THE BEST CD'S TO COME OUT OF THE BAY. THE BEATS ARE PHAT, THE LYRICS ARE BOMB, AND IT GIVES THE LISTENER SOMETHING TO BOUNCE TO! NEVER AGAIN WILL WE BE ABLE TO ENJOY SUCH WORK FROM RBL, DUE TO THE SUDDEN PASSING OF MR.C. ON THIS, THEIR SOPHOMORE ALBUM, RBL HAS SHOWN JUST HOW TALENTED AND COMFORTABLE THEY ARE IN THEIR MUSIC. I JUST WANT TO...

3.0 out of 5 stars Standard issue g-funk (2.5/5)
R.B.L. Posse's 1994 album "Ruthless By Law" is the group's sophomore effort, and their best known album. I'm surprised by all the great reviews of this album, calling it "one of the all time greats" or "the best from the Bay." This album is average the majority of the time, and never outstanding. San Francisco natives Mr. Cee, Black C, and Hitman execute the g-funk...

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS ALBUM IS ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREATS, October 13, 2005
This review is from: Ruthless By Law (Audio CD)
in my back yard theres a gang of bodies that buried when i walk through my back yard im walking on a cemetary when i was born i was born on the 13th my best friend was fredie and we used to live on elm st. M.N.O.H.P. the way that rbl comes with the beats..makes this album my #2 of all time behind season of the sicc by brotha lynch..not to mention the flows are perfect. i had this cd when i first got my license and car..driving around at night with this cd playing was what it was all about at 16.
the first song is bounce to this..the beat is like a drug you need to hear this song once a week to get a fix..bluebird was the most played song from my click..and the rest of are high school. i got my nine is my favorite song on the album..the beat is amazing and the flow is fast and smooth all at the same time!!!funkdafied is a great song to drink and party to..but the whole album is...listen to my creep and m.n.o.h.p. are hardcore songs that take you to the dark side of frisco. mnohp is a song about a number left on a pager that you dont want to call back, taunting you into death. song 8 is livin that life my #2 song on the album..it takes too shorts famous line its your life dont be stupid though...and a great beat make this song great.songs 9 and 10 are good 11 and 12 are classics in redding,i was never really into smoking but my stoner friends played these songs all the time pass the zags and smoke a blunt. all in all this album is a must have for any nor cal rap fan. mainstream rap listeners need not apply..they wont understand that these guys are for real and lived that life..not like all the fake rappers today thats why i dont own a album made after 1997...i stay vintage and classic i know what i grew up on and know it well....so buy this album before it goes out of print..thanks..dean

5.0 out of 5 stars RAP CLASSIC, January 1, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Ruthless By Law (Audio CD)
This is most possibly the illest rap cd to ever hit stores. The two headed monsta Black C and Mr Cee, along with company, Cellski and Hitman put together pounding beats, sick flows, and sweet hooks. The rhymes are very creative. The highlights of this album be "Blue Bird" best track on the LP, "Bounce to this" gets your pumped for the album. "I Got my nine". "Niggaz on the jock" "M.N.O.H.P" "Pass the zig zags" and "Dedication" but all the tracks pound. This gem from RBL Posse is a must have for any west coast rap fan.

ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREAT RAP ALBUMS!!! MR CEE'S DEATH IS A TRAGEDY. THIS ALBUM WAS JUST A MEAR GLIMCE OF WHAT WE MAY HAVE SEEN FROM THESE 2. BLACK C WITHOUT MR CEE IS LIKE BATMAN WITHOUT ROBIN. SOLO THEY ARE OK, BUT TOGETHER THEY ARE THE DYNAMIC DUO. BEATS LIKE NO OTHER, LYRICS SECOND TO NONE, AND VERY WELL PRODUCED. WONDER HOW LIFE IS ON THE STREETS OF SAN FRANSICO? JUST LISTEN TO THE BLOODS FROM 415, CAUSE IN FRISCO WE KICK IT LIVE, AND LISTEN TO THEIR FUNKY (...)!

Man people outside of the bay just don't know... This album brings out the best in RBL and represents classic bay flava. If all you listen to is DMX, Jay-Z, and all that mainstream stuff they don't compare to the records we come out with. Along with Andre (Dre Dog) Nickatina RBL is the best out of the Frisco city...

5.0 out of 5 stars hardcore, May 17, 2006

Man RBL.......What can I say? I came across this and just had to write a review. I grew up listening to these guys. This is straight up, uncut, RAP. No shiney suites no high budget video or heavy MTV rotation.Just hardcore rap PERIOD Can't say the lyrics have much depth, but the lyrical ability and beats more then make up for it. 5 stars for the homies across the bay.

5.0 out of 5 stars RBL in effect, April 1, 2005
This review is from: Ruthless By Law (Audio CD)
This was the unforgettable comeback for RBL. The whole CD has tight production with pumping bass and tweaked synthasizers. They had a really nice sound to their tracks, aswel as good flow and lyrics. This is without any doubts a straight classic too following 'lesson to be learned'. If you wanted something that won't let you down while you are crusing, it is this. These were the best days of RBL, the first and this album are untouchable. Sadly Mr.cee died after this album, and hitman a while after. Black C is still making music but it's not the same without Mr Cee. Hitmans solos were not the best, but are still heavy. Peace! r.i.p - mr cee & hitman

R.B.L. spit nothin' but game in this album. The beats are phenomenal, especially the first 5 tracks, which are some of the tightest beats I ever heard in rap history! If you love music to bend corners or lowride to, this is a must. The beats and rhymes are menacing and hard, showing these guys are nothing to mess with. This is the epitome of Cali gangsta rap!
