I love this episode because Kim gets better in the end, which means the world to her, God, and her family.

I have dealt with a lot of family addiction in my life and I love this series! It's very, very true to addiction and what it's like for both the addict AND the family who loves the addict! Even if you don't ever do an intervention for your addict, it will teach you some things you probably never knew about your loved one who is struggling with addiction.... it can be so easy to want to give up on them because of the lies and all they put you through but being an addict is no picnic either and when you're in the throes of addiction, it isn't even about getting "high" as much as it's about just not getting sick (AKA withdrawal) which not only sucks but will NOT make your addict magically want to stop doing drugs (if you think "well, if they get "sick" they'll never want to feel that way again) because if anything, getting sick will make them MORE desperate and they're more likely to steal or even commit a crime to get the drugs to stop feeling so bad! Not to mention, even WORSE, going cold turkey off drugs is DANGEROUS! You can have a seizure, among other serious things....in fact, you're insurance company may not cover a treatment program but they HAVE to cover a safe, medical detox because it's considered a "medical emergency". But that doesn't mean you should be "enabling" the addict by giving them $$ or a place to stay and do the drugs or food or any kind of help if they're not willing to get help but I love the phrase they tell family members who feel bad to tell their loved ones..."1. I'm not going to love you to death" and 2. "There isn't anything I WON'T do to help you get better but there isn't ANYTHING I will do to help this go on one more day!"......Great series! Many seasons. Have seen them all!

As a former alcoholic, I find this episode to be among the most personally relevant reminders of the hell of the cycle of daily drinking...

There is much drama in this episode. A very exciting, yet touching documentary. They don't say but it looked like this was filmed in Eastern Pennsylvania. This is a must watch...
