This review is from: Ryans Room: Family Affair II: African-American Family Doll Set (Toy)
My daughter is 2, has brown hair, and loves playing with her Ryan's Room dollhouse. Our dollhouse came with a family of yellow-haired dolls. While playing with my daughter one day, I noticed that she'd label each of her dolls with names of loved ones but never included herself. For herself, she used a Polly Pocket with dark hair. I wasn't sure if she simply preferred the Polly Pocket or was having trouble with the RR doll's yellow hair so I ordered this family to see if she would associate better with these dark-haired dolls. She did, immediately labeling one of her new dolls "Me." Then, she labeled the rest of her new doll family with names of more loved ones, who may or may not have matched the color of the dolls. In the end, I don't think the dolls' hair (or even skin) color was an issue for her after all. Maybe she'd just run out of dolls before and made do with what was available, which is perfect. Suffice to say, she loves her new dolls and now our 2 doll families play together all the time! :)

I wanted to point out that the color in the pictures on amazon is not quite right. These dolls are kind of a chocolate brown color (with black hair) not orangey-tan as they appear.
