4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Addition to Dollhouse
I bought this for use with the Home Again Dollhouse. I was told by Small World toys that it would be compatible. Yes...and no. It's the same wood; nice quality for pre-fab; easy to assemble. It is the same height as the "Make More Room" basement of the Home Again dollhouse. But it is not the same depth. The dimensions are: 10.5" tall (to top of garage, not...

3.0 out of 5 stars Why
This is not really a toy, but it was a little fun when my dolls through parties on the deck. I bought it dirt cheap. Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it. Now, they are charging $49.99! Do not buy this at all. My doll car had trouble getting in, and once, after I stuffed it in as much as I could, it got stuck. Pulling it out got some scratches on the doll car. I now just...

The dimensions are: 10.5" tall (to top of garage, not including railing) x 11.5" wide x 13.5" deep (not including ramp). This garage is wider than the garage that is integral with the Make More Room basement - and my son was very pleased with that detail. The deck with railing is a separate piece that acts as the roof of the garage. You can rotate the deck opening to be on the left or right; so you can place it on either side of the dollhouse. That deck/roof piece is not attached with screws; it can be rotated on the fly by the kids (but there is a lip on it that holds it in place so it can't be easily knocked off). If you take off the deck, it can be placed on the floor next to the house like a patio; and is the same floor height as the dollhouse; but then your garage will not have a roof. The garage is open on both sides - meaning, there is access to contents behind the garage door from both sides of the unit. The only fixed wall is on the back. The ramp is attached with two dowels. It comes on and off easily; though this hasn't been a problem for my kids. The garage unit does not come equipped with a method to attach it to the dollhouse. It will simply sit side by side and can be moved around freely by the kids. Overall, I'm happy with the garage; though I think the price is on the high side for what is essentially a fairly plain wooden box.

Do not buy this at all. My doll car had trouble getting in, and once, after I stuffed it in as much as I could, it got stuck. Pulling it out got some scratches on the doll car. I now just use the deck and the garage to store things in. In real life, that's what people sometimes do anyway. They store things in the garage, and leave the car out of it. So save your money. Don't buy this.

We bought this along with the Spashing Good Time hot-tub set to go with my daughter's Ryan's Room dollhouse. She loves having a garage. But she is even happier to have an "outdoor room" for the hot tub set and some of the other furniture that she had in the dollhouse.

The garage is high quality and quite large. She fills it with trains, cars, buses, etc. It is a very nice addition to the dollhouse.

The little driveway piece never stays on, but a little glue helped that. I like the patio above the driveway for the playground set. Keeps the pieces corraled.

I bought this to go with the playhouse. It's nice and big to allow for most cars to go into it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good creative play, July 3, 2006
This review is from: Ryan's Room Park and Play (Toy)
I do not have this particular item. I have the house that the garage attaches to. The set is sturdy and allows for hours of imaginative play. Although, $50 is a bit pricey for this add on, it makes a nice addition to the house and offers additional venues for creative play. They do make a car that is made to fit in it. I would measure the interior before I'd buy a different toy car to put inside.
