5.0 out of 5 stars Great Learning Tool!
My second grader loves this puzzle! He's put it together several times since Christmas. The wood base shows the capitals, but not the states or their shapes, so he's really learning where each state goes and is starting to even learn the capitals. Would recommend for ages 7-10.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not as advertised
The description states that "Kids can quiz themselves on state capitals by guessing the capital and then removing the puzzle piece for the answer". But the capital is listed on the front of puzzle piece! I specifically wanted a puzzle that did not have the capitals on the top. There are two pictures on the website. One just shows the state names on top. This is not what...

We live in Ireland and on our last holiday to the US I bought this for my wife to improve her US geography. It is very well built and the pieces interlock well together - however I think after a few months use the wooden base is tending to bow a little. However an excellent educational aid for all ages.

I bought this puzzle for my 5 year old grandson. Even though he couldn't read yet, he was able to name all the states and put them in the proper place within 2 days. He loved it. And, I love it....it's durable, well-made, and colorful.

This is a really nice, well-made puzzle. It is large, though. It's not like the smaller ones you might see at Target. The pieces fit together nicely, and the information on each piece is interesting to any child wanting to learn the states and their location.

My son needed review of states and capitals. This puzzle is perfect as each state is a separate puzzle piece (alittle different in the smaller states such as Rhode Island etc...) IT is sturdy and well made. Would recommend!

I bought this for my daughter. It was just like the one I had as a kid. She used it multiple times when she first got it. Great geography tool. Just make sure you keep the dog away if the pieces fall on the floor.

This is the best way there is to learn states and capitals for elementary age students. Usually 3rd, 4th and 5th grades learn the states, where they are and their capitals. Putting the puzzle together is the best way to do that! Keep all the pieces in a ziplock bag so you don't lose a state!

I had a US map puzzle as a child and played with it so much that even today I could identify all the states by shape alone. By giving this sturdy puzzle to my granddaughters, I'm expecting they will enjoy it and learn from it just as I did.

I had a puzzle map of the USA when I was a kid, fifty years ago. I still remember many state capitals and have a pretty good sense of where the states of the union are located. I gave this to my grand nephew, age 6, on Christmas Eve and he was into it right away and was able to put it all together with the help of the photo from the package. As an educational tool, for kids who like to handle things, and put things together, this is a perfect match.

I gave my 3 1/2 year old grandson this puzzle for Christmas. I thought it might be a little beyond his capabilities, but he absolutely loves it!
