4.0 out of 5 stars Rydin Ruff, But Still Rydin
Ruff Ryders: Ryde or Die Vol. 1 was definetly a seller when it hit and made the names DMX, The Lox, Eve, Drag-On, and other fellow Ruff Ryders known by all rap listeners. Vol. 2 came along and many put the album down from it's lack of worthy beats and rhymes. Then comes Vol. 3....no one knew what to expect. It turned out to be a very well done album.

Several new artists...

Several new artists are brought to the table in 'Ryde or Die, Vol. 3,' including 2 new artists on DMX's Bloodline Records, Infa-Red and Cross. Other fellow Def Jam artists, Ludacris and Fiend, also make their appearances on the album. A great track on the album is 'Keep Hustlin' from the LOX. It is great to hear Jadakiss back with the boys who started the statement 'money, power, respect, all you need in life.' Compliments to Drag-On and Petey Pablo for making 'Dirrty' an unexpectedly tight track.

For potential buyers, it depends on how long you have stuck with Ruff Ryders or if you have just started listening to them. For long fans of DMX and the RR crew, this is definetly one to add to your collection. It is a change from the usual we expect from Ruff Ryders, but it is worth a listen and, believe me, you can bump this in your ride, it hits hard. For new listeners of Ruff Ryders, I would download a track or two to see if you think it's a good buy for you.

Double-R ain't goin nowhere. And this album proves the longevity of DMX, Eve, Jadakiss/LOX, and the other Ruff Ryders.

This album is pretty good. My favourite songs are "They Ain't Ready", "U, Me & She", "Eastside Ryders", "We Don't Give A F**k", "Street Team" & "Friend Of Mine". I also like the "Intro", because it sounds cool. There are quite a lot of weaker tracks, but all round it's probably worth getting.

4.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars for the 3rd chapter in the RR compilations, July 28, 2005

Once again after just over a year since Vol. 2, the RR camp is back with a new album. Not as good as Vols. 1 or 2 and about equal with Vol. 4. The roster is basically the same, Infa Red & Cross are back, Swizz don't rap on this one and Fiend was added. As with vol. 2, not alot of DMX or Sheek and guests once again are some bigger names but not as good as the one on Vol. 1 & 2 (with a few exceptions). It has 14 songs: 2 are classics, 1 is almost a classic, 5 are ok, 2 I skip, and the others are great songs. As you can see most are either worth skipping or are hard as #*&@. Production is good or bad depending on the track. P Killer Tracks does 3 songs, Needlez does 2, and Swizz Beats, Mr. Divine, Timbaland, Irv Gotti, Kid called Roots, David Banner and Mike City all do 1. A good album for fans of the RR but not the best.

#2 - 6 (Drag-On & Petey Pablo
#3 - 7.5 (Jadakiss & Bubba Sparxx)
#4 - 4 (Eve)
#6 -10 (CLASSIC gangsta song --- Styles, Tray Deee, Goldie Loc -- nice beat)

#8 - 7 (Drag-On & Fiend)
#9 - 7 (Fiend, Ludacris, Yung Wun)
#10 - 6.5 (Drag-On, Infa Red & Cross)
#12 - 9.5 (gangsta song by Styles)
#13 - 9 (LOX -- Sheek, Jadakiss, Styles)
#14 - 8.5 (upbeat song -- Cross, infa Red & Aja Smith)
#15 - 7.5 (only an ok song by: DMX)
#16 - 4
#17 - 10 (CLASSIC freestyles w. great beat -- Jae Hood, Larsiny, Shields, Locke, Rockstar & Cassidy)

5.0 out of 5 stars VOL. 3 IS TIGHT, January 25, 2002
This review is from: Ryde or Die, Vol. 3 (Audio CD)
I enjoyed only a few songs at first, but after listening to it a few times, I love the whole cd. I would've liked to hear a little more from DMX but thats alright :) Forget that review that said that his song was bad, you listen to it for yourself that song is tight. That man has a way w/ words. Also another favorite is Eve's YOU ME & SHE. CD definitely worth the money. Thanks.

With the arrival of the Third installment of the Ruff Ryders Compilation, any fan of the Ruff Ryders camp can breathe a huge sigh of relief. It has been a minute since we last heard from the Ruff Ryders and it is good to hear the familiar thunderous beats from producers Swizz Beats and P. K. Not only is this a family reunion of sorts with the whole crew on appearing on at least one track (DMX, EVE, the LOX, Drag-On, Parlee, Yung-Wun)everyone comes through in that familiar grimy DOUBLE R fashion. It also features a few newcomers such as Infa-Red and Cross who prove the future of the Ruff Ryders clique is as bright as ever, though they are from DMXs Bloodline Records. But this is not just a family affair, Timbaland brings his BEAT CLUB on the hot joint entitled "They Aint Ready" in which Jadakiss and Tims protege Bubba Sparxxx spit nothing but hot bars. Ludacris also drops a gem of a verse on the crunked up track "Some South S**t!" ....
