Book Description

October 1, 1997
First comes marriage . . .

Heiress Casey Ruban needed a husband -- fast. So she raced to the nearest bar and made her offer -- full marital privileges in exchange for a wedding ring. It was an offer one man couldn't refuse.

Then comes love?

Once, Ryder Justice had everything. Now all he had was nothing to lose. But when the brooding ex-pilot agreed to marry the desperate woman in front of him, just for a year, he soon realized that not only did he have something to lose, he'd already lost it. His heart -- and it belonged to his wife.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

Delaney Ruban left a clause in his will requiring his granddaughter Casey to marry within 48 hours or forfeit her inheritance. Beautiful Casey adored her grandfather and had been groomed by him to rule his financial empire. She refused, however, to let him rule her private life as well. With her back to the wall, she foils his last attempt to force his handpicked husband on her; instead, she walks into a roadhouse deep in the Mississippi Delta and announces that she'll marry the first man who has the guts to stand up to her pack of barracuda relatives. Ryder Justice has his own demons to fight and is running from a past that torments him. But there's something about the lovely, desperate Casey that makes him step forward. Casey thinks he has the coldest eyes she's ever seen, but she's desperate enough to make a deal with him. Fate throws Casey and Ryder together, but the heat of passion and their forced intimacy forges a bond that will make their marriage of convenience last a lifetime.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a keeper, August 6, 1998

This review is from: Ryder's Wife (The Justice Way) (Silhouette Intimate Moments No. 817) (Mass Market Paperback)
What a fun fantasy! RYDER's WIFE is about a business woman who must marry someone w/in 48 hours to keep her business, so she marries the first guy she comes across in a Mississippi roadhouse.

Believable, workable plot? Of course not! But that's the fun of it!

You will enjoy the falling-in-love process between Ryder and Casey, and I bet you will want to keep this book to read again.

This was my first Sharon Sala book, and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Over the last few years Silhouette's quality has been slipping, but RYDER's WIFE is a cute fantasy and worth the $4.
