Very entertaining,

This review is from: Miss Ryder's Memoirs (Signet) (Paperback)
It was bad enough when the dashing and debonair Sir John Meddows spied Miss Catherine Ryder in a totally embarrassing state of undress in what she imagined was a secluded swimming pond. It was even worse when instead of turning his back he showed her his grinning face. But what was really infuriating to the incorrigibly unconventional Catherine was that Sir John ignored her whenever her prim, proper and annoyingly attractive sister Amanda appeared. Miss Catherine Ryder might be a young lady who dared to do anything she wanted-but now she had to learn to stop at nothing to win the lord, she loved... This book is definitely worth every penny and you won't regret reading it.

A pleasant enough read,
This review is from: Miss Ryder's Memoirs (Kindle Edition)
I found this book somewhat on the average side and it's not one I would read again, though I usually enjoy this author. The use of first person tense is irritating and the heroine a little immature for me. If you enjoy a story about a young girl's escapades and a minor mystery this might be worth your time. If you like Regencies with witty banter, drawing room encounters and Heyer-like social historical references then look elsewhere.

I won't rehash the plot. You can see that in the other reviews. I'll just add that this book is first person and so wonderfully funny. It was a joy to read. The heroine is ascerbic and determined and so very entertaining.
