More About the Author

I, James W. Freeze, have been known by many names, Bud by my parents, Gus by my schoolmates, X2 and Sgt. Freeze by my police comrades, not very flattering

names by members uf the criminal element, and Gristle Brazenlust by my fellow actors at Renaissance Faire.
I was born 74 years ago in the small town in Taft in one the last of our nation's frontiers, the California oil boom. My father suddenly died of a heart attack when

I was 12. My school Principal and my football coach steered me away from going down the wrong path after my father's death by introducing me to being of

service to others via a Hi-Y club.
I entered San Jose State University after high school and pledged Alpha Phi Omega, the national service fraternity. I also met my wife of 53 years, my sweet

Arleen. I fulfilled my military obligation by serving 8 tears in the Calif. National Guard. I was honorably discharged as a Staff Sgt. assigned as the Battalion

Intelligence Sgt. and Asst. Operations Sgt. Before I graduated from college with a Bachleor's Degree I started my 33 year career as a small town police officer in

Morgan Hill, Calif. I developed my writing skills by authoring many, many police investigation reports and then convincing deputy dist attorneys that they should

prosecute my arrests.
After I retired my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson, and I performed at Renaissance Faires in the San Joaquin Valley for 10 years. We were in St. Gregory;s

Guild, and we portrayed the Royal Magistrate's Court of Law, with arrests, trials, convictions, and sentences served in our pillory, Precious.
I've also served my community by serving on the Boards of Directors of several nonprofit corporations,. I am a founding Board of Director of Community

Solutions. a mental health, alcohol and drug abuse treatment agency, and Media Access Coalition of Central California. the cable public access television station

for Morgan Hill.
I also composed this, my first written oeuver, an answer to my muse, Ryders of the Royal Dragons. I posted it on Kindle because I want no part in harvesting any

more trees. I hope that you enjoy my humble efforts.
