These shoes are great for exercise. They fit my feet very well, and the mesh panels in the upper of the shoe make them very breathable. The downside is that these panels are very water permeable, so if you are walking in the rain, make sure you avoid the puddles or your feet will be swimming. The mesh also makes them a little cold in the winter. The insoles are removable and washable, but I washed them once and they curled so badly that they made blisters on both of my feet after I put them back in. I left them out and the shoes are still very comfortable to wear. I purchased these shoes this spring, and my pinky toes have already worn through the inner mesh lining; however, I feel that I have gotten my money's worth from them. I would definitely recommend them for walking in the warmer (and drier) months.

These shoes are very light and very comfortable. I'm an ICU nurse, and I work three 12-hour nights in a row each week. These shoes are so comfortable I can wear them all 3 days without having to use different shoes to give my feet a break. Arch support is good. I will be buying another pair when I've worn these out.

I searched Consumers Report for the best walking shoe and found the Rkya. I ordered my usual
size and returned them for a half size larger. Could have gone up another half size but got charged for
returning the first pair, so I'll stay with the second. Found them to be light and comfortable.

While the price was right on this shoe, the fit was not. I have an old pair of Ryka walking shoes. I selected the same size. They were too short at the toe. I don't know what shoe form they are fitted on when they are constructed, but they certainly do not fit a Western foot. I was concerned that a larger size would be too big and did not want to chance another return. Too bad. They were a really nice fitting shoe at one time.

My most recent shoes were Nike ($70 from shoe store). My shoes before that were New Balance ($100+ from shoe store). I had never heard of Ryka but decided to give them a try based on the Amazon reviews and the low price. I don't think it's always the case that you get what you pay for, but in this instance, I found that to be true.

First, I think I might have gotten a slightly defective one. The left shoe was fine, but the inside of the back that hits the back of the ankle felt funny immediately when I put it on. You know how sometimes when you put a shoe on, the top lip of the back bends inward and presses against the back of your ankle? That's what the right shoe felt like. I think there was something off about the cushioning there. It wasn't painful but just annoying but after about 20 minutes into my first (and only) walk with the shoes, I didn't notice it at much. But every time I tried the shoe on after taking it off, I'd notice it again.

That's not the reason for the low rating though. Read on.

These shoes are lightweight and I suspect that if you only wear them for errands, you'd be fine with them. I do like how lightweight they are.

I walk my dogs on the trail twice a day every single day. I wear the same shoes every day, except when it's rainy or super wet, in which case I wear waterproof hiking boots (which are not comfortable to me) or my slip-on water-resistant walking shoes (which are comfy but not as comfy as my walking/tennis shoes). Luckily I live in sunny CA so I can wear the walking/tennis shoes 95% of the year. I don't care what my shoes look like as long as they are comfy. And by comfy, I mean like walking on clouds.

After reading the reviews I ordered a 1/2 size larger than my normal size in running/walking shoes. This is the ONLY reason I dropped one star off my review as that's not very dependable. I am very happy with the shoes after getting them in the mail though. They do fit perfect, plenty of room in the toe box area, and cushion is perfect. They were totally comfortable the minute I put them on which makes me very happy and I've been wearing them around town ever since. I had ordered the New Balance TrueBalance toning shoes in case these were not going to work and I'm happy to say those got sent back and the Ryka's found a spot in my shoe line-up. Great product!!

This is the second pair of Ryka shoes I have bought. They are very light. I have MS and my legs get very tired and I get fatigued easily. Wearing these light shoes however has helped me to be able to add a little more distance to my day. I hope they continue to make this shoe.
