I just purchased this little beauty to maintain my shrubbery. It would have helped if I had read the instructions before starting. I was having a little trouble keeping the motor running on the power head, and she didn't want to start too easily either. But after consulting the manual I realized I was trying to run it at half choke! OOPS! The only reason I didn't rate this 5 stars is because of the frequent maintanence requiring the removal of an access plate to apply lubricant. Aside from this fault - I was impressed with the ease of operation and the height I could trim to.

I purchased this a couple of years ago to add to my collection of add-ons for my Ryobi trimmerplus. I used the Ryobis for a few years on a small commercial basis (less than 20 lawns/week), so I feel I'm pretty familiar with the unit. I took on a job for a customer to tame their front hedges that needed to be trimmed back to 6' high. My issue came when after an hour of holding this thing above my hips, my shoulders felt like they were going to burn up. My arms were screaming at me and I still had a ton of work to do on this row. I used a 6' step ladder too. I'm no slouch when it comes to manual labor, but this was something I regretted buying from the getgo.

I cannot see any reason to buy this add on. Even if you buy it from Harbor Freight remanufactured, it still costs more than a quality electric trimmer. If you need something cordless, then research a battery operated unit (I have no recommendation here) or gas powered stand alone. If you only have hedges that are knee to waist high, then this is still an expensive add on over an electric trimmer.

This is ANOTHER great add-on for my Ryobi trimmer! I hated using my old cordless trimmer, and the hedges in my driveway showed it! This new trimmer is making short work of that chore. Good power and well balanced. With all the TrimmerPlus attachments, my yard has never looked better!

With the attachment & the motor together the product is long and ackward. It does what it's designed to do but it's not easy to manuever.

Purchased the HS720R to trim of the high hedge that surrounds my property. Its not capable of doing the job effeciently.....it is easier to climb the step ladder and wack the scrubs with my Echo single sided trimmer.
The HS720R will cut, but mine requires that you go back n' forth several times to make the necessary cut, while the Echo takes just one pass.
Also, the length, combined with the power head is kind of clumsy to work with.

This is a very well made and durable product. It attaches easily to the major portion of the Ryobi and has a very smooth action. Trimming just became a breeze. This 4-stroke Ryobi engine continues to start easily and with assurance too. Love not having to mix oil and gas with this one.

The product that was sent was what I was wanting to use. The problem was that the construction of this add-on was not the same as the add-on that I was replacing. The new equip would not correctly attach to my drive mechanism so I had to completely disassemble the old add-on, using the drive assembly from it in place of the portion of the new addon that wouldn't correctly align with my power unit.

I got this for 2 years. I love it save me a lot of time and it very safe to use. It's still working great.
I don't have to worry about cutting my extension cord with the electric trimmer.

I used this trimmer attachment with my Ryobi modular yard tool, and it is great. The ability to change heads was a real selling point, and I had very large hedges that I could not reach without a pole extension, and this worked great. Over time, the mechanism inside the trimmed head did not hold up. But then again, I worked this piece VERY hard. Not recommended for think branches!

IT WAS A FAST,EASY, NO HASSEL PURCHASE. SAVED A LOT OF MONEY, AND I WILL DO IT AGAIN WHEN THE TIME COMES TO PURCHASE ANOTHER ITEM THAT I MAY NEED.
