Power issues,
This review is from: Ryobi ONE+ 18V Starter Kit (Misc.)
I purchased this kit to have on board my truck for those times when you wouldn't need AC power. I already had a Black & Decker 14.4v skill saw, but thought it was time to step up to the 18v for the additional power. All batteries were fully charged using the charger that came with the kit.
Thus far, I have been disappointed in the power retention of the batteries.I barely made it through a full cut of an 8' 3/4" section of plywood and did not get half way on the return cut. Same problem with cutting a PT 2x12. I was only able to make three cuts across the short side before having to change the battery. The B&D 14.4v actually did better. I cut four 8' lengths of 3/4" plywood and several 2x12,s before it was time to change the battery. I don't know if the batteries are of poor construction or if they have been sitting on a shelf for a long while before this kit was sold. The batteries seem to work fine in the low amp tools, such as the flashlight and drill. The reciprocating saw also had some power issues when the going got tuff. When they did work, they work well. Just wish the power was there longer. Nothing more frustrating then having to drag out the AC saw for a little job.

Ryobi ONE + 18V Starter Kit,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ryobi ONE+ 18V Starter Kit (Misc.)
I love this combo system. I really only wanted the circular saw for trimming and light work, but the drill was part of the deal. I'm glad it did come as a combo pack because I love the drill for it's power. The saw is great and does the work I need for it to do. I am concerned about the battery life.
Pros Great saw and drill Includes two batteries, which is necessary to have, and the quick charger Carry case Con The battery life is going to be a concern. I can see in the two months of ownership that the batteries will need replacing within six months. That's pretty poor.

Accessory question,
This review is from: Ryobi ONE+ 18V Starter Kit (Misc.)
I am quite satisfied with the performance of the tools considering the price I paid 99, the drill did perform best for me, enough power and and feature, although its a bit heavy, but really not a big issue here.
The circular saw performs great, its small and light weight easy to carry around, but although the battery runs out quicker than using the drill, I think this is logic and does not require further explanation. With 2 battery in the kit, then change battery when needed. My only complain for this kit is, why ryobi did not include a saw edge guide? I don't think this is something optional, an edge guide should be part of this kit, I hope ryobi consider it in their future product. I recommend this product for minor home improvement.
