I have always held a deep seated hatred for NiCad! The new LI-ON batts are a dream come true. Lighter, longer lasting and more powerful. My old cordless tools perform better than they did when brand new with NiCad. I have various tools by Dewalt, Milwaukee, Rigid, Ryobi and they all are better with LITHIUM!!!

I have had these RYBOI batteries for over a year of steady use and have not had any problems.

WARNING -
The old NiCad chargers will NOT properly charge the new LITH batteries. It says so in the product documents and on the box. It was the first question I asked myself before making my purchase. On the bright side, my old Ryobi tools are now like NEW and that saved me a ton of cash and the LITH batteries are a dream!!!!!!!!! So, best to buy a combo package and save yourself money.

PS - Check out INTERSTATE batteries. Interstate is a well known, long time, reputable battery company. They make generic replacements and chargers that cost much less than what retail RYOBI parts will cost and they are actually better! A fair comparison example -

Ryobi battery # P104 (the big fatty LITHIUM made to last forever) costs around $90 at Home Depot and rated at 18V 2.4Ah.
Interstate replacement costs $70 (direct price from website...probably could find better deal if you Google) and is rated at 18V 2.6Ah

My Interstate replacements have been the better purchase. I also have 2 of their chargers - Dewalt and Ryobi and they work very well! I have bought them for all my tools as I needed to replacement and have spares.

After buying this 18v Ryobi Lithium battery through Amazon and retailer Minng 88, and paying 60$ plus, it stopped working after less than five months of light use. It gives a 'defective' signal when recharging. Because it was past 30 days, since purchase, I cannot return it or exchange it for a working battery. It means if you get a defective product from Minng 88, it has to fail within 30 days. If it stops working on the 31st day. you are out of luck. This is very unsatisfactory customer service.
When I had a similar experience with a defective Rigid 18v Lithium battery, bought at the same time through Amazon supplier, Damlow, the response was quite different. Damlow said to return the defective battery for a replacement despite being well past 30 days since purchase. That is great customer service and makes me a happy client. Damlow has gained a future customer. I will never buy from Minng 88 again. and advise all to do the same.

I've been using the 18 volt Ryobi's for years. I was always recharging one while using the others. This one battery outlasts 2 of the others. Great investment if you do any serious type of contracting work. Wait for the price to drop! I only paid $50.00 for this. You can purchase the larger one @ Home Depot for around the same price.

What the ad says: "battery charges on the Li-Ion 140237023 chargers".
Not what Ryobi's info says on the insert to the instructions for their tools.
** The required charger for the P103 battery is either charger model P113, P114, P125, or P131. The P103 battery is either part number 130429004 or 130429008; the part numbers for the chargers are not listed(several possible for each model).
** There is no part number 140237023 charger listed in the Ryobi documents enclosed with their tools.

Battery worked well for the first two months. Left it uncharged and unused for 2 months, tried to charge it again... and it won't charge. Didn't even last a year. Stored inside at room temp. Emailed Ryobi's customer service to request an exchange under warranty and had no response. $50 wasted. Rather irritating as cheaper products I've purchased have lasted longer.

We recieved this battery with a partial charge, as normal. However it would not take a charge after that point. I contacted the seller who advised I could send it back to him for a refund or call Ryobi and have it replaced. We chose that latter. It was a fairly simple process and luckily I was working near a Ryobi service center. It was replaced with a new one that is working perfectly.
Next time I will go directly to a retailer and not chance having this issue again.

I bought four of the Ryobi lithium batteries, and three of them stopped working almost immediately. They won't take or hold a charge at all.

I bought this for my husband. For his Ryobi tools he only wants the Lithium batteries. They are smaller, lighter, & hold a charge way longer. He is slowly building up his tool army to higher end tools. In the meantime the Lithium batteries are kind of like an "upgrade" for his Ryobi tools.
He is very happy with these batteries.
