I have a rather large collection of Bibles. I reccomend this Bible for everyone who asks my opinion. I have had other Bibles in the past including Thompson Chain which is a great study Bible. I have had a Ryrie for years. I love the font. A personal Bible should be like a map that is used daily. Different Bibles just dont read the same as "your own," you know. After I wore out my first Ryrie, I had a Scofield given to me. I just haven't found it as easy to read and to navigate as the Ryrie. As a preacher the Ryrie really helps me to read from the pulpit. I can find my favorite passages quickly and easily. Ephesians 2:8-9. I hope that you get a Ryrie!

The Ryrie Study Bible Expanded Edition in the King James Version is one of the best study Bibles available today. The Expanded Edition of 1995 offers a superior font as compared to the old Ryrie, with many additional notes, plus in-text maps and charts. I don't find Ryrie to be 'as' Dispensational as the Scofield Bible. The Ryrie also has a brief Topical Bible in the back, and excellent doctrinal perspectives as well. The genuine leather Bible, as Moody Press told me years ago, is bound by the folks who are the binders for the Sultan of Brunei. I do know where the Bible originates, and they make ONLY excellent Bibles, which have sewn signatures and quality bindings. Yes, this Bible is expensive, but well worth it. Please avoid the Bonded Leather editions. They are garbage.

I have a large selection of study Bibles at my disposal, between my Dad, Mom and myself. If I had to have only one it would definitely be the Ryrie in Genuine Leather. Yes it is a litle expensive, but the wealth of information is more than worth the price. As far as construction goes it is superior to all the other Bibles that I have used. The leather is unmatched, the paper is superb, and the printing is rich, vibrant and beautiful. I love this Bible and would recommend it to anyone who wants to study the word of God.
