I wish I had gotten a new one a long time ago; this new one fits so much better and thus seals so much faster. It is terrific!

You know, after writing that stunning review I've had 3 bad experiences; this new gasket is thinner than the original 1970's gasket, and 3 times it's rolled over when the lid is "screwed-on" and the pressure has forced it's way out the side of the lid, rather than out the top hole, which is scary and could be dangerous. I know the gasket is placed correctly and the lid is on correctly and the pressure hole is open; so it's just an unfortunate thing that this gasket does not fit and now I'm afraid of my pressure cooker with this gasket ...

I felt paying $5.00 for shipping was ridiculous when the postage on the package plainly said $0.50. I have been unable to get the gasket to seal properly, despite my 50+ years of using a pressure cooker. I know how they work!

Since I could not find this product locally; I ordered two thinking the old Mirro
would work for years; but neither would hold pressure. Went back to my old seal which
is about 12 years old and about shot; but will still hold pressure.

This gasket is supposed to be the replacement for my old one, no other options. Don't waste your time of money because it doesn't work.
The store I bought it from however is wonderful. They sent out the product very quickly and resolved my problems very efficiently. I would deal with them again for another item.

I ordered one of these recently and have used it a couple of times. It works fine. I like the way that it seals in the pressure so nicely. It was very easy to install. I kept my old seal way to long (20 years). I didn't like the fact that item shipping costs were so high, relative to the item cost. I wish I could have purchased it locally but didn't have that choice so I bought it online.

Its completely disingenuous to sell this substandard garbage gasket seal. It doesn't seal!! If you are unfortunate enough to try this gasket out, you'll end up with an explosion of scalding steam and canceling your dinner plans

It is hard to find gaskets for pressure cookers and I am just glad they are still available. The gasket looks to be as good as the original.

I ordered 2 gaskets to replace the originals on my pressure cooker & canner. Even though I had the correct model numbers, neither one of them would fit and pressure wouldn't hold. This could be a dangerous situation if you are not familiar with pressure cookers.
