Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 5-9-Wilson discusses the popular YA author's early career and each of her books. Writing The Outsiders at age 15 was Hinton's claim to fame and earned her respect in the book world. She writes about true-life situations and rivalries, focusing on characters, in accessible and easy-to-understand language. There is mention of her novels on the big screen and an interview with her by radio personality Tom Bodett. Written for a younger audience than "Bloom's Notes" (Chelsea) and "Cliffs Notes," Wilson's title is not as in-depth and scholarly. This is an informative and interesting resource to help embellish a report on one of Hinton's titles.
