I don't write many reviews, but most of those I write are positive. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of good things to say about our S.R. Smith diving board. Our pool was built in the fall of 2008, and since we live in Minnesota we had to wait until May of 2009 to use it for the first time. Our pool builder, a very reputable builder, installed an 8' S.R. Smith diving board a few days before we opened the pool in May 2009. We opened the pool again this May (2011)and when I was cleaning around the pool deck I discovered that on the entire underside of the board, the fiberglass was delaminating from the wood core. Pieces were literally hanging from the underside. So I visited the S.R. Smith website and discovered that the board has a 3 year warranty. Great, I thought. It has been just 3 years since the board was installed. I called my pool builder and discussed the issue with him. He sent a representative to examine the board and took some pictures. He called me back and stated, "there is no way this should have happened," and said he would handle the warranty claim with S.R. Smith. Then he called me back a few days later to tell me that the 3 year warranty provided by S.R. Smith is from "date of manufacture," not the date of installation. So basically, we are out $600 on a diving board that has been jumped on probably 50 times by a now 9 year old boy. We will take our business elsewhere for our next diving board purchase - and I advise you too also. It's bad enough when a product won't outlive it's warranty, but it's worse when the manufacturer refuses to back its product by playing fine-print games with its warranty.

It was time to replace our diving board and this board and stand was our best option. We has recenlty resurcfaced our deck with an acryllic topping, so the base dimension was important. The shape was almost identical, only 1/4" x 2" strip on each side of the old deck was visible. I could not use the rebar support they supplied, as it was for new construction. I instead anchored it with (5) 1/2" x 4" expansion bolts.

the base is ok but the trampoline is weak and you can hear it cracking it's easy to install as long as you have the base before you pour the concrete which is included in the package
