I got this in the mail today and I have to say it looks better in person; the white and gold look very sleek (5 stars for it's looks). I read some good reviews about this helicopter online and decided it would be a nice upgrade from my 2 channel propel mini rc heli; which performs well and has gone 2 years and hundreds upon hundreds of crashes without breaking once. But enough about my old heli, the 107g is a great mini helicopter; it's 3.5 channel control allows the pilot to control lift, left and right turning, and forward / reverse which is awesome! 5 stars for being an affordable 3.5 channel heli. The quality of this heli is great, the manufacturer really spared no expense in using great parts on this great little heli(5 stars for quality). I've crashed it a few times and it doesn't show a single scratch, I give durability 4 stars since I've barely owned it
In all honesty, this heli performs exactly as it should. My only complaint is that the heli isn't very fast out of the box. Considering it's an indoor helicopter, slower speeds are definitely a good feature for those who haven't mastered the controls. This can't really be considered a big complaint considering how easily it can be modified to allow faster speeds for more advanced flyers (next section).
1.) After reading about buying aftermarket rotor blades, spinning the rotor upside down, etc etc, I decided to simply remove a few pieces of the helicopter. I removed the 2 bars and the piece connecting them to the tail bar, along with the tail fin (not to be confused with the rotor).Read more ›
This is my only complaint. The second one came in and there "gas" control (the control on the left that controls speed or up/down) was spring loaded and would not stay where you left it so you had to keep your hands on the remote to have it hover. The first one i got did not have a spring and i could set it to hover and literally put the remote down on the floor and the heli would stay put. Anyways i removed the spring and that fixed that issue. THen i went to fly it and it seemed like the signal would cut out in as little as 10 feet (the first one could go easily up to 30 feet). This second one was clearly defective so i returned it the same day after 2 flight (2 mins of flying). Anyways i ordered an Syma X1 so i could play outside but i will definitely be ordering another S107G for the office just play with inside.
It is amazing!!!!
I was able to actually fix the first one that i ordered. turns out there was just a loose screw holding the top blades. Tightend it downn and she flys again!
FAKES: Also I found out that there are fake S107G's and that is what was wrong with the second one i ordered. DONT ORDER FROM Halley R Us, That is where i got my fake one from that i had to return. The legit one i got from Battery Superstore
I've bumped this into the ceiling, chairs, office equipment, all sorts of things, and it still flies like a dream. Incredibly and amazingly durable.
I wouldn't recommend letting younger children play with it though; flying takes a certain amount of control, and even though it's super-lightweight, the blades really hurt if you touch or hit them when going full throttle.
I had to knock a star off though because the helicopter is described as 3-channel however my remote is only 2-channel. All the functions still work, but in our office now we can only have two of the same helicopters flying simultaneously.
It only came with:
- the remote
- the chopper
- a tail rotor blade
- a USB charger
I was expecting that it would at least have the spare parts for the main blades.
I said it was not the real thing because I noticed the following:
- the gears are way off
- the paint job on the canopy, the tail parts and the main rotor blades is not good enough (see pictures later)
- the landing gear has white tip
- the screws that holds the support for the tail are not screwed in properly and I tried to screw it in but the screws are already 'damaged' in the sense that it no longer has the '+' mark instead just a hole on it (see pictures later).
- the balancer has screws (see pictures later)
- the connectors are too thick ("dog bone" shaped on the balancer)
- the tail rotor blade has some cuts on it
- the rotor color are pink and green
- the circuit board is green (real ones have red and says "SYMA107R3/5" on the board)

Cheap little remote control helicopter. While it does not hold a charge for long....a few minutes at most. It's fun to play around with. Read morePublished 6 months ago by Jake
