Only just got it, so I can't do a full review yet. However, I can verify that it does work (allows for wireless charging). The phone gets a bit warm using it, but I believe that is normal for wireless charging. It even allows me to charge through my Otterbox Defender case. You have to place it just right, but it will charge with the case on, and the case itself fits with the card in place.

The card itself isn't exactly paper thin, there's a bit of a bulge and like they say it'll probably interfere with the phone being waterproof.

The sticky strip on the back of the card was only a little tacky on mine (like a post-it note). I was worried it would permanently attach to my battery, but instead it's just holding the card in place while I put the cover back on, which I like.

The phone does alert when it is charging. Haven't found a way to disable that yet short of muting it.

Update 5-6-14: Been working great without issue. I purchased one of the same company's "Koolpad"s, which is quite large and perhaps makes it easier to line up the coils? It takes a little positioning, but not much, and so far it really hasn't gotten hot while charging, just a little warm. My only complaint there is that the Koolpad is quite slick, so the phone easily slides around if you try to use it while it is charging (check messages etc...). Also, some people report with this technology that it'll beep in the middle of the night as it starts charging again to top off the battery. If it is doing so, I haven't heard it, it really only seems to make a noise when you first start charging.

For the person who said the contacts don't line up right, there are a bunch of contacts on the GS5. You only need this to attach to the bottom two. The rest are for the S-view cover and not used for wireless charging.

First off I noticed the tape was really weak. It wouldn't even hold on the battery as soon as the backing was removed. This made it really tough to position.

Once It was positioned correctly and locked under the cover it was very difficult to align on a charging pad, despite the size of the unit it took a lot of trial to position it to charge on 4 brand name Qi pads and 2 off brand ones...

The Ultra Thin no brand one in my other S5 has none of these issues.

Also this charger is much closer to 1MM thick than .5mm, which causes havoc in thinner cases (They just don't fit right), but thick ones like otter boxes should be fine. My Spigen 2pc case wouldn't sit right)

I am returning this one and getting another no brand "Ultra-thin" receiver... The .5mm and better charging area are worth it.

I had really high hopes for this charging adapter, and it was a major let down. It might work well for some people, but not for me.

**Update** I contacted the Seller and received no tech support for this (Just in case there was something I missed). I Just got vague ramblings about how it "should" work and they sell good products so I should be happy with it. Huh???

I Don't Randomly Give out 1 star reviews... This charging adapter earned it:

5 Stars to Start
-1 Star for weak/Non-existent adhesive
-1 Star for being over .5mm at it's thickest point
-1 Star for difficulty positioning on Qi Pads
-1 Star for Lack of support. Actual Quote "Well, I don't Know, it should work, I mean they do work"

Total of 1 Star....

Just my thoughts,

AK

Arguably better than the Samsung OEM wireless charging cover as this is more versatile. It does add a little bit of bulk to the back of the phone and neither of the 2 semi rugged cases I tried would properly seal because of this. I ended up switching to a cheap TPU case and it works fine. It's really unfortunate that Samsung did not include wireless charging as part of the stock phone which is another reason I refuse to buy the OEM wireless charging receiver. I did not use the included adhesive strip and used piece of painters tape to adhere the receiver to the back cover instead of to the battery; making it much easier to remove it in the future if I wanted.

I wanted this to work so badly.. It is remarkable to me that other people have managed to get this thing to work with the Galaxy S5. The pins on my unit simply would not make contact with the connectors on the phone. I tried about a million permutations involving scotch tape to try and get them to sit down there. In the end, the only way I could even confirm if the thing was functional was to hold my finger on the card and pins, and hold the wireless charger up to it. THEN it would charge. But there was no way I could get it to work with the case on. This is a great idea in theory, but it was so poorly made that it is totally nonfunctional. Sending it back as soon as I can.

I had high hopes for this card when I bought it, as it had some solid results to offset the people reporting problems.

It started off well enough - I took care to install it so that the contacts lined up, and then buttoned things up. Placed on my Qi Charger (
PowerBot® PB1020) I got a happy beep from my S5 that I was charging. Then a bit later another beep, and another, and another, every few minutes. I had a real problem aligning the card so it would even register with the charger as charging.

So I took the back off, checked the contacts, and even put a bit of tape to hold the contacts in place. No luck. The only way I could keep a charge going for a few minutes was to leave the back off the phone and hold the contacts in position with the charger precisely in place. I even tried a small bit of foam to hold the contacts with the back on, but with no luck.

Clearly this was not going to be a happy solution, so I ordered the WOWTOU(TM) Wireless Charger Qi Receiver for Sumsung Galaxy S5 (recommended in other reviews), and tried it. No problems, it just works as expected, and I have not had to fuss to get the charge to start. The WOWTOU is a little wider, but is slimmer than the S5 PWCard, and the sweet spot of the coils is centered which makes it easier to line up with the charger.

One suggestion for people buying this type of card - have someone help you hold down the contacts as you tape the receiver to the battery. It helps make sure there is not a misalignment when the tape sticks.

Am returning this item.
