Toasting shouldn't be so complicated.,

Our old Proctor Silex toaster died after many years of just being a simple toaster. The toaster we got to replace it died within six months of purchase. This was the toaster to replace that one. It hasn't died yet, but I'm having the exact same problems as the previous review- it toasts unevenly, so you wind up with a dark brown spot on one part of the toast, not toasted at all around the edges, and barely toasted on the other side. I've taken to setting the toast setting much lower, and then when the toast pops up flipping the toast over before toasting it a second time so it's more or less even. Toasting shouldn't be that complicated. We are putting it in the donation bin and hunting for the fourth toaster in less than a year.

Poor quality control?,

The center group of heating elements barely gets hot resulting in toast that is under-done on one side and over-done on the other.

a toaster may be one of the most basic kitchen tools: wire coils on both sides of piece of bread conduct heat, get red hot, toasting the bread. why is it so difficult to find one that actually works for a reasonable period of time, say AT LEAST 5 yrs?no idea, but this is a paradigm of junk; as others have noted it does not heat evenly, toasting one side of the bread more than the other. you have the choice of flipping the bread over or just having it not completely toasted. the one star was partly due to that, but more to the fact that it died after three months and I did not want to send it back to the manufacturer only to get another with what is obviously a common issue. NOTE: i deliberately bought this locally so that if it died i could return it without a problem; unfortunately, the return time was only 90 days, so i was stuck with it.

it melted itself!,

I've had this toaster for about two years now and have never had any luck with it. It toasts unevenly and that's the best thing I can say for it! I've tried multiple times to toast bagels in it - it has a bagel button, so I know it's supposed to toast them properly. Each time I've tried, I've gone through multiple settings and burned multiple bagels. One time, I even used the bagel button and set it at a 3 of 6 setting - it ended up burning the bagel and melting its own plastic casing! I'm pretty sure it shouldn't do that. So, buy a different toaster. Don't waste any money on this one.

Worst toaster I ever owned,
This review is from: SA OT Oster 2 Slice Toaster (Kitchen)
I have had this toaster for about 2 weeks. It replaced another Oster toaster that I had for about 2 years before we decided to throw it out because we couldn't clean out some crumbs. I am sorry I did that This toater toasts white bread poorly, leaving the top of the brad barely toasted.I have yet to toast a bagel that was not burned. It didn't matter whether I used the bagel button or not. Look for a differrent toaster. Don't buy this one!

Great for 20 bucks,

nothing fancy, just toasts, and does a good job at it.Didn't get five stars because it won't fit large slices, but for 20 bucks it's a good little toaster. Very happy with it.
