I bought several pepper spray devices made by sabre to test out their efficacy. I bought the home and away kit, the home defense model and this one. The main reason was for use by my girlfriend and other women in the family. We tested all four, and this one was quite impressive.
Comparing this 13 oz pepper spray to the smaller versions is a bit unfair, but it gives a bit of context to review it. The small cans were either stream or foam, this one was a fogger. Boy! what a difference. I feel like this one was by far the easiest for us all to aim. It just burst out of the nozzle in a wide cone like pattern. I feel like in a stressful scenario, one could use it accurately and effectively and would easily cover a larger area. It also lasts a long time, we all tried it and it still seems to be half full if not more.
I am planning on purchasing several for our houses. Very nice, accurate, cheap and non lethal. The women especially felt more comfortable using this option against someone in the home, as opposed to a gun. This product is very impressive!

This item sprays a 10-18 foot fog of pepper-spray, that sprays like a liquid, but quickly fogs, in about a half a second, and boy oh boy is it unpleasant. This will incapacitate any intruder, or wild dog,....but be aware, that being even close to the spray will affect you too. Shoot and quickly turn away, or else the toxic effects will burn your throat and eyes, just being near the spray. It works. Expensive, but effective. Keep a can in the Bedroom, and another in the main part of your home. You will have a definate advantage over one or two or three intruders with knives. Or a pack of wild dogs. There is enough spray in one can to really mess them up while you escape. Aim for the Headshot. In the face is best. But, this stuff is so toxic, that just spraying their clothes will severely slow them down. And you don't have to be too accurate with your aim, just point in the general direction, press the trigger, and you will be amazed how much blasts out in a narrow spray pattern(about 1-2 ft wide), for a good distance, in under one second, Too fast for your average creep to dodge the spray.

I used the same brand years ago to break up a dog fight. It worked amazingly fast and I didn't have to aim hardly at all. This is mounted behind the door in the bedroom at my house.

Bought this product about a year ago due to a dog attack on the evening walk,,,almost a year later same house,,out came two large dogs,,,lucky I always keep the safety pin pulled as I did not have the time before they were on us,,one went behind,,one stayed in front,,I got off a good shot at the one behind it took off down the street,,another shot to the other dog turned it back home...their owners were outside yelling at the dogs also...We had to take a shower when we got back,,the overspray will sorta fog the area...one dog went back in the house an got pepper spray all the furniture, one dog was long gone,,,,Maybe the gate will stay shut now.

I have guns. but I don't really want to kill anyone, unless I really have to, to save either my life or an innocent third party. There's NO bringing the perpetrator back.
This should be a better alternative, unless the gun is really needed. And, it'll work on animals and dog, too.

I haven't had to use this on anyone, thankfully, but I do sleep better at night. I tested it in a large garbage container and it does put out a good shot of pepper spray. I think it is best to test it because the yellow tab that you push down on (it doesn't slide, although it looks like it should) is hard to push the first time; almost like it is breaking a seal or something. Also, i think that in an emergency you need to know that it comes out in large spurts, so you have to hold down, let up and then press again for more. I feel that it will be very effective if I ever need to use it. I pity the fool.....lol

I received this product expeditiously and at a very reasonable cost. When I tested the spray shot the advertised distance. I'd give it 5 stars but unless I test it on a bear or human I can't verify, and hopefully will never have to verify it's stopping power.

Instead of pepper spray
We heard bear spray has a further shooting distance and a wider radius when shot so you don't have to worry about just shooting someone in the eyes, it'll hit them no matter what
