Sounds like a practical joke.

Unfortunately, the key ring broke within 2 weeks, and I lost the container.

It's a nice shape, lightweight, and a cute color.

I keep pepper spray on me while walking my dogs, because loose dogs approach us and start trouble pretty regularly. Before trying SpitFire, I always used the super-cheap $6 kind that you find on keychains at the hardware store. This worked well enough--large dogs who charged us aggressively would cower down & squint when I blasted them, and would not follow us as we continued on our way. I could hit them from several feet away, and the air was instantly utterly un-breathable in that area. No dog ever yelped or ran away though, so I thought this must be weak pepper spray.

So I bought some SpitFire, put it on a wrist-coil keychain, and within 2 weeks of walking our route every day, we had another encounter. Large dog aggressively circling me and my dogs, and eventually charging with ears pinned and mouth open. I attempted to spray it with the SpitFire, and was shocked when the stream/spray was pathetically weak--it wouldn't even reach the dog while I was standing up straight. After it locked onto my dog, I got closer to its face, and emptied the ENTIRE CONTAINER into the animal's eyes/nose. The container didn't really "spray" so much as it just drizzled. It resembled the kind of gentle misting that you'd give a fragile plant with a water-bottle.

The dog seemed utterly un-phased by the pepper spray. I could feel it in my throat and eyes, and it was uncomfortable, but not debilitating by any stretch. I broke the dogs apart by other means, hoping the other dog would leave since it had pepper spray in its face. No such luck. It stuck around, continuing to follow us all the way to the door of my home. We got in, but only after multiple bloody lacerations to my dog's beautiful face.

I bought this for my girlfriend to carry. She keeps it in her outside purse pocket, next to her phone and keys. Not ideal, but better than nothing.

Even at its record compact size, it's simply too big for most people to conveniently carry on a keychain. I test-carried it on my keychain for a week, and I tolerated it. So it is possible. Your preference may vary.
The important thing I noted while carrying it was that it was in no danger of accidentally firing in my pocket. It's simple to use (slide button forward and push down), but you really have to purposefully push the button down to fire. So, you shouldn't have to worry about accidentally spraying your crotch or purse.

The main drawback is the range. Six feet of cone spray is pitiful, but then again, consider the size of the thing. You'll need to take wind into consideration when using (or practicing).
The cone spray isn't necessarily bad, especially if you're attacked from behind, or if you're not confident in your aim while under stress. Make sure you practice so you're familiar with the trigger and aiming.

After all is said and done, I still recommend this spray above all the others out there. Be prepared. And get it for your loved ones if they aren't. And at this price, you have no excuse not to get it.

I had bought this for my girlfriend around a month ago since she works late at night. She was looking for something compact, cute, and somewhat childproof. This pepper spray is what I had come up with. It easily fits onto a keychain and doesn't add much bulk to your pockets. It's also easy to use for an adult but a little childproof for children as she has a 4 year old son. Based on quick research, the ingredients look to be adequate enough for self defense. I'm actually going to order the black version for me as my current pepper spray is just too big.

Got the spray for my wife and it came fast! I tried it on myself because i dont want her to have a fail moment if she is being harassed. My eyes swole up and I couldnt see due to the swelling. Had to go to the hospital and get my eyes flushed and medication. This stuff is the s***, Lucky I have free insurance cause im in the army or i would send the bill to SABRE lol! good stuff even though it sucked in my eyes.

Upon arrival, I decided to spray just a bit (less than 1 second blast) of this into my kitchen sink. Big, big mistake. If you're going to test this device, do so outdoors, and for God's sakes - Don't inhale anywhere near it, or you'll be sorry like I was. Nonetheless, I'm glad I have it and I'm glad it works. Don't forget to pack it in your checked luggage if traveling on an airplane! The TSA will not only confiscate it, you'll be forced to undergo a background check and may get a fine in the mail.

Yes, I'm a dummy, but hopefully my mishaps will help prevent yours :-)

I purchased this for my fiance to carry on her car key chain - she carries it regularly and likes it.
It is somewhat over-sized in my view, but it fits on her keys quite nicely as she typically has them in a jacket or her purse - it would not fit comfortably on my keys in my jeans pocket however.

The first SABRE Spitfire I bought failed after a few years of regular carry - the quick-detach plastic device on the tail end failed. Given the price point of the product, I was not overly bothered by this failure, but it is something to be aware of.

I would encourage any purchaser to do two things: regularly check the pressure of the OC capsule inside (the manual describes a float test that can be performed) and buy an inert training cartridge and train with it - I can't find them on Amazon but my local law enforcement supply store has them. The spray comes out of the Spitfire in a cone, not a stream like I was used to from most other OC spray products - make sure the user is familiar with how to operate the Spitfire as well as the spray pattern, so they don't spray themselves.

Finally, no tool is a replacement for being aware and alert of your surroundings - if you're approached by someone while you're texting or otherwise distracted, good luck reacting even if you do carry chemical spray (or anything else for that matter).
