This review is from: SACRED QUEST: In Search of the Lost Ark of the Covenant (Paperback)
If you really want to understand more about the history of the ark of the covenant, there are several other good books in this field. "Sacred Quest" reads more like quasi-fiction, blending some history with a lot of conjecture to create something that's neither entertaining nor informative. I had to push myself to finish this book.

A Trail Leading Back Over the Landscape of Time,

This review is from: Sacred Quest: In Search of the Lost Ark of the Covenant (Hardcover)
Reading Sacred Quest found me on a trail leading over the landscape of time, and I found myself bearing forward toward the oldest remnant of recorded history as the author describes the soul of a nation and it's peoples. This is a gripping and unforgetable narrative that shows the authors capability at analyzing a Biblical mystery that has been held in the balance for centuries. His knowledge and judgment of the lost Ark of the Covenant is worth pondering.

Curiosity of early history,
By A Customer
This review is from: SACRED QUEST: In Search of the Lost Ark of the Covenant (Paperback)
Indeed one of the curiosities of early history is the mystery of the disappearance of the Ark of the Covenant. There are grave, even provocative questions raised in SACRED QUEST that provides sentament, tension and heft to the story.Certainly, the picture of early religion presented in the book impresses upon us that there may be no more potent force than religion.

New Way to See History,
By Jon Blakley (Cold Springs, NY USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sacred Quest: In Search of the Lost Ark of the Covenant (Hardcover)
The hard test for historical writing come to the author who sucessfully finds new ways to see things."Sacred Quest" succeeds in answering the important question of how enthusiasm and modern methods of archeology could better invstigate past history. Howard H. Schack shows the tension which occured during Biblical times and follows it through to the 21st century, bringing historical analysis of the three great religions to a new level of insight and importance
