Ive been using this brand for a number of years, and have found it to be very good. Cook's Illustrated has recommended it as the best yeast that it has tested.

I recieved the yeast in a few days (exactly what the fedex tracking said) when I checked the date it expired on 12/2007! and it was removed from its original packaging. I am not at all pleased with the company that sent it.

First and foremost, this is an excellent yeast product. It works incredibly well.

The company assured me by phone contact the yeast would be recently manufactured. My expectation was that it would be within the past 3 to 6 months. It was not. The serial manufacture code implied a product made in late 2010. That's about 10 months old.

Granted the yeast is still very usable and will last about another year before expiration with proper storage. It's just a disappointment for the price paid. It's a premium product.

Is there any actual yeast in this? I have used this many times from several different batches and purchased from different retailers at different times. It often comes prepacked as the yeast in pre-packaged bread mixes. Each time I was careful to make sure that it was nowhere near the expiration date. In EVERY case, the bread has failed to rise. This is worse than garbage as it ruins all the ingredients and you have to throw it all out; there is little worse than needlessly wasting food. When it comes with the pre-packaged mixes, I have tried throwing out this branded "yeast" packet and replaced it with other brands of yeast. When I do this, the bread comes out perfectly. The bread is only ruined if I actually used this brand of yeast.

Bottom line, if you want to be disappointed and waste time, energy, money and food, then this is exactly what you want.

This is the best yeast I have ever used in baking. Introduced to this yeast when using some Gluten Free baking mixes. So impressed with its performance I bought it for my other baking needs. Yeast has no bitter after taste as I get with other brands. Well worth the price and waiting to have it shipped.

This yeast seems to work wonderfully, and I love the fact that it does not contain additives like emulsifiers. I believe it is also gluten-free, which is helpful for me, as I am sensitive to gluten. I love this yeast!

This is my favorite yeast (and I've tried dozens). It's the most consistent, and it's also made to be added to dry ingredients. This is very convenient if you're making bread in a bread machine or with a stand mixer -- no proofing necessary, just dump it right in. Love it!
