I love mine. I have caught birds in flight (Grand Canyon, Warwick Castle, England). I do not know how it would work at sporting events. I have taken evening shots w/o flash, indoors and outdoors. I had two lenses before and it was a pain. Now I can go from wide angle to zoom and I love it.

Yes, it does. Though, nothing beats a true Macro lense, like the SAL35F18 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0042GHI8U/), which is my next purchase. Or the SAL50F18, if you want to save some change and don't need to be up close with your subjects. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0029U0X24/)

I own the a65. And it fits and works great. Have not done any serious testing yet. But from what I have seen I am glad I got it.

Nope! It uses the body scre drive for focusing, thus focusing can be a bit slow. I think only ssm lens have its own screw motor

Hi D. Scuderi, This feature is in the Alpha A-mount camera body. The SAL18250 lens does not have the image stabilization feature. Hope this helps. - Omar
