I recently moved into a basement apartment in the DC metro area, and as some know, basements can get pretty cold. I was thrilled when the homeowner owner loaned me his portable heater. This heater is heaven sent! It keeps my 1,350 square foot basement very warm. Here are some of the features that I noticed with the heater:

1. It warms up my basement very quickly.
2. It is very portable, as it has swirling rollers beneath it, making it easy to move from one room to another.
3. It doesn't get hot-to-the-touch like many other heaters.
4. It's energy efficient.

What more could I want in a heater? The heater is definitely pricey (and thankfully, I didn't have to buy one), but despite the price, I think the heater is worth it. The only reason why I am not giving this heater the full 5-stars is that it is quite noisy. I keep the heater in my room (and leave my room door open so that it'll heat up the rest of the basement), and on the first night I had it, I turned it off because the heater was a bit noisy. After the first night, I got used to the noise, so it doesn't bother me like it used to. Other than the noise, this heater is great. I highly recommend it.

Awsome heater! The best heater of it's kind. I have an Eden Pure which does not work half as good. The fact that I don't have to worry about changing bulbs is a great plus. I would highly recommend this heater to anyone looking to save money on heating bills. I plan to buy additional units for my kids to have.

Efficient and Economical?
I was dubious, but needing another area heater, I decided to try this one. FedX delivered and it was running in 20 minutes, instant heat.

To confirm their boast of an economical advantage, I plugged it into a Kill-a-Watt electric usage meter.
I had been using 3 electric oil radiators in office den (32x20) with 2 - 8' glass patio doors facing north. Each had been using about 1.3 Kw per hour, this unit arrived just 24 hours ago and already I've taken one of the radiators away and turned the other 2 down by 50% and just check the Kw used by this unit and it is only using 1.38Kw per hour, efficient with considerable savings. The temp in this room is up 3 degrees and I'm going to cut the oil radiators down some more, and we are experiencing our harshest winter since 1996, 6 degrees with wind chill of -10 now at 5 a.m.

NOISE: yes it has a blower or fan. Heaters that radiate do not, so there is some noise but not excessive or unbearable. This distributes the heat better and possibly adds to its efficiency.

You can't reach this Amazon distributor by the phone they provide (on hold for 2 hours) but they did push the order out the door very fast.

It is a smart looking unit, great design and cool to the tough that's important if you have little ones about. How long will it last? Made in China, and some have good quality control and some do not, BUT this one has 3year warranty and Amazon to back it up, that's comforting.

So far it is working just as described, I am a happy camper and good luck to you.

Good heater, not warm to the touch on the outside of the box, so if that is what you are looking for, then its great. However does not throw enough heat to warm a large room and shuts off on its own every once in awhile.

My intent in purchaseing this heater was to heat an average size family room. I find that the heater does throw off heat, but not enough to warm the room, as advertised. I have a oil filled radiator that does, just as well, and cost far less.
Not worth the cash outlay

I purchased this heater for my downstairs living area - approx 800 sqft - but it really only heated the 10-15 ft in front of the heater. So I think it might be effective for a smaller room, but it did not work well for my larger downstairs area.

Does not warm as much area as it advertises and takes some time to warm any area. My husband uses it directly on him to say warm.

I bought this heater because we have propane heat and our bills were going through the roof. This heater does a pretty good job of heating the room your in as long as it is not too open. We had the heater in our dining room which is open to the kitchen and leads to the livingroom through a four foot hallway and it kept the chill off for the most part. We moved the heater into the livingroom and it does a much better job in the smaller area. We are able to keep the heat turned down a bit and still stay warm while relaxing on the couch.

Decent product, pros & a few cons. Bought to try to help lower costs on current boiler system. Had been running regular (cheap utility) space heaters to do this. Owned and used EcoHeat1500 for 3 months now. OVERALL: good purchase for me as long as it runs for a few winters without any problems. PROS: 1)have a newborn that just started crawling and this heater is much safer than an open coil type. The grate still gets pretty hot, however it is a very small area and baby can't knock this unit over. 2)Claims of not taking moisture out of the air seem to prove correct in my house. The static electricity level has gone down tremendously since swapping out the old utility heater for the EcoHeat1500. 3)Good customer service. Had an issue of loud rattling at first, but received prompt response from seller and was able to resolve problem. 4)Does keep area comfortably warm. CONS: 1)Once I started using EcoHeat1500, my electric bill went way up and gas bill came down. Cost to run this as compared to smaller utility heaters seems to be a wash in my old, under-insulated home. Was hoping there would be more of a savings as advirtised. 2)Unit will get (my)400sqft area up to about 75 degrees but won't get any warmer than that no matter how high I turn it up. Again, my be due to (drafty)older home.
