4.0 out of 5 stars Great phone with NO SUPPORT!
This is a great phone for someone who doesn't care for new games. Although the phone has been in the market for nearly a year, there are no games available for it through tmobile besides the few that come with the phone. Don't get me wrong, I love the games, but I'd also love to play Tetris which has yet to appear at the tmobile site.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great phone with NO SUPPORT!, May 16, 2005
This review is from: SAMSUNG P735 T-MOBILE CELL PHONE (Electronics)
This is a great phone for someone who doesn't care for new games. Although the phone has been in the market for nearly a year, there are no games available for it through tmobile besides the few that come with the phone. Don't get me wrong, I love the games, but I'd also love to play Tetris which has yet to appear at the tmobile site.

Here are the more intriguing features.

MP3 PLAYER
The MP3 player is mediocra at best. The nice thing about it is that it pauses when you have an incoming call and allows you to resume right where you left off. The bad part is that you can't fast forward. Many of you may be saying, "It's a phone, what do you expect?" But the truth is that it's built-in video player that does allow for rewinding and fast fowarding so that aspect is a disappointment.

Another HUGE disappointment is that you can't use your stored MP3's as ring tones. Again, the phone allows you to transfer videos from the memory card (RS MMC) to the phones memory and save them as your wallpaper (yes i mean video wallpapers) So again, this is somewhat of a let down since mp3's aren't nearly as complicated (or as large) as videos. Also, MP3's need to be encoded at over 128kbps. I think I encode them at 196kbps. Whenever I tried to go lower, the phone wouldn't recognize them as valid MP3 files.

ADVANCED VIDEO CAPABILITIES
Now for the clincher. Using simple media conversation tools like psp video 9, you can watch music videos and movies on your phone in .MP4 format! I purchased a 512MB RS MMC stick for $65 in December and use it to store videos and music that I enjoy everywhere such as on walks around town and on the bus or train. For those of you that love subtitles, they'll still be legable on the phones screen.

HEADSET
Another saddening fact is that it doesn't include a headphone jack. But it makes sense since headphones don't have buttons that allow you to answer calls so this can be overlooked. It's also comfortable, stay in place and are discrete with its unique design.

CAMERA = 1.1 MEGAPIXEL, BEST OUT
The camera is decent but its still the best US camera phones have to offer. The lack of a built-in flash makes it useless in poorly lite homes or at night.

BUMMER?
Hm, another thing that I noticed some people may miss is that the battery status bar stays idle while charging. I personally don't mind since the adapter itself has a status light (red for still charging, green for go time) so who cares right?

SUMMARY
So it's a media center in your pocket. A 512MB stick can probably hold a single movie, 3-4 20+ min episodes, or tons of songs and pictures. (You can throw your own pictures in there as well). Hope you found this helpful!

5.0 out of 5 stars playing mp3 or mp4 3gp videos on samsung p735, January 5, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: SAMSUNG P735 T-MOBILE CELL PHONE (Electronics)
In order to play mp3 files you need to transfer files to your RS MMC but make sure less than 20 characters on name of mp3 track (including spaces letter or number) sam p735 will not read items from MMC if it has more than 20 characters .also make sure these are mp3 not real audio or wmf sound format.only reads mp3 sound format .u can rename mp3 sound file b4 transfering to multimedia card .make sure once mmc card inside phone u select the mmc location . that will relsolve your issue .also u can download videos and compress it with (pvauthor) program and copy to mmc card and play on your handset

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST Phone!, May 12, 2005
By
S. Lindsey (Nashville, TN) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: SAMSUNG P735 T-MOBILE CELL PHONE (Electronics)
I LOVE this phone, I have been a longtime devotee of Samsung and this phone just rings my bell. Swivel feature best for using the mp3 player and just plain showing off. Great reception and battery life is what I would expect.

Tip for those purchasing new mobile phones: Condition your battery! This will greatly extend the life of your battery (in between charges and replacements).
Step 1: The first time your charge it, charge for 12 full hours for lithium ion battery (most common these days).
Step 2: Let it die COMPLETELY and then charge it FULLY again.
Step 3: Repeat step 2 one to two more times.

Always try to let your battery come as close to depleting as possible before recharging, this will extend the life of your battery as far as replacement. Your battery's longevity is based on "cycles," from one charge to the next. The more times you charge the battery, the sooner it will need to be replaced. Also, avoid using car chargers whenever possible, these are a "rush" charge that do not last as long (in terms of recharging) as traditional wall "trickle" charges.

2.0 out of 5 stars the phone that does everything....except make phone calls!, September 12, 2005
This review is from: SAMSUNG P735 T-MOBILE CELL PHONE (Electronics)
I have gone through many different cell phones and let me tell you...this phone is overpriced and does pretty much everything but make decent phone calls! I was told by T Mobile that this was a great phone, and it did everything and so I only got this phone as a replacement because my TM Sharp 150 broke and this was the free replacement that matched my old cell phone's quality of pictures (My TM Sharp 150 took the best pictures ever!!!). Well, it's true...It swivels every different way, has a MP3 on it, records videos and takes pictures (although NOT good pictures; poor lighting, bad quality, crappy focus, overall bad pictures)but the one thing I have the hardest time doing with this cell phone is MAKING PHONE CALLS! It does not have good reception or a strong signal and overall it is NOT worth the $500 it can retail for. My advice is to buy another phone and spend the extra money elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Flashy without the actual FLASH!, January 2, 2006
This review is from: SAMSUNG P735 T-MOBILE CELL PHONE (Electronics)
I had been wanting this phone for about 4 months before I got it. The thing that drew me to this phone so much is since I am in college and everyone has a cell phone I wanted a cell phone that no one had. Out of whereve I have ever been I have only seen this phone once before, so I had to have it since it was such a limited demanded item.

Design:
This is obviously a swivel flip phone, letting you put the screen in positions a flip phone wouldn't allow you to. The phone only allows you to swivel it certain ways from certain positions, which takes a a few minutes to get used to but it isn't to bothersome. The toggle which is basically on the swivels hinge is abnormally far from the actual keypad buttons, so a lot of space has to be covered when doing certain applications. This was the hardest thing to adjust to, but it was still not to bad.
The phone is attractive with the silver with blue coloring and the reflective border. The phone, however is kind of fat and a little heavy in the pocket. The good thing is that the girth isn't wasteful, the MMC card is on the outside so you don't have to dive under the battery to change it.

Screens:
The external display is bright and easy to read even from 10' feet away. It is OLED which helps it keep the brightness, but does not support wallpapers which is a bummer, but it still funtions when photo caller id is used on a contact. So you can still see who is calling
Upon up the phone and you will be immediately taken aback by the extremely bright and vibrant internal desplay that is very very sharp and shows very little pixelation. The screen is great for looking at the menus, and one of the best phones on the market for looking at pictures on, especially when you rotate the screen 90 degrees to the left. It is great for that because the ENTIRE screen displays the picture.

Camera/Video

It is only a megapixal camera, not a 1.3 or 2 megapixel, but the pictures are far better than any VGA quality. The real star of this feature set is the Video Camera, when you have it in save only mode (either to the phone or MMC) it goes to an eye popping 352 pixel size, which looks very good once uploaded to the picture. Sure it is grainy and not that sharp, but the humongeous size help this feature alot! Another great fact is the videos when in save only mode, can be saved in any length, allowing you have the memory. One minute of video in the highest setting is about 2.5 MB so if you have a big card, you can save alot of video.

MP3 Player
As you may or may not know already, this device doesn't support playlists, but you can make a playlist on the go but it will only be good for that particular session. I had a problem with a SD RSMMC card not allowing the phone to play the MP3s, the phone would see that they were there, but didn't want to play them. However, the included 32 MB card lets you listen to music fine.
The real surprising thing about this MP3 player, for me at least, it sounds really good. I was expecting crappy $5 walkman tinny sounding headphones, but they sounded perfectly normal and were pretty darn comfortable. They do use a propriatary plug which means you are stuck with them, but they personally didn't bother me.

Other Features
T-Mobile is gracious enough to include 6 games, 3 of whcih are 3D and all of those are really fun and offbeat. Messaging on this phone is only average, and I couldn't find a way to send out one message to several people.

Pros: Decent camera with GREAT Video. Unique design is a conversation starter. Expandable Memory. MP3 player that sounds good. Crisp, clear internal display. 6 complete games preloaded.

Cons: Kind of bulky and heavy. The navigation toggle takes some getting used to. Messaging on this phone is a little mundane. No speakerphone or Bluetooth.

Overall: Really is asuberb phone with an admirable feature list, and a unique design. Though it doesn't have speakerphone or bluetooth, it still is arguably the most fun to play with on the market.

3.0 out of 5 stars GOOD phone..THIS REVIEW WILL HELP..., February 24, 2006
This review is from: SAMSUNG P735 T-MOBILE CELL PHONE (Electronics)
I got this phone for my birthday...first time I saw it I loved it...it looked really awesome... I had the phone for about 5 monthes when one time the screen turned white...like I noticed another person who reviewed this phone said the same thing.I took out the battery and then put the battery back in and it was all ok again. It happens every so often...ive had the phone for nearly 11 months now, and its only gone white about 3 times... them i noticed that there is a squshy thing around the keys and that if you push that down to hard it causes the screen to go white, because everytime it turned white i was fiddling with the squshy thing...so if you get this phone i wouldnt mess with the squshy thing. But it is also easy to scratch since the front screen is somewhat like a mirrior.and scratches easily show up on the silver part..i was really careful about dropping the phone because its soo pretty looking.the camera is good, except the pictures comes out to dark. also sometimes id turn it off and turn it on and it would say it needed a sim card, even though it was in already in the phone...soo i would have to take the battery out and push the sim card in it. I REALLY LOVED THIS PHONE THOUGH. it doesnt have aim or anything but ive never seen anyone with this phone EVER.. its a really unique cool phone. I enjoyed it a lot.... yeah..but the color on the screen for the phone is really clear.
also i thought the front screen whould have lots of color like it shows in the picture but its only black with orange...and thats really it. im not sure if its worth the 400 dollars...thats a bit expensive for the quality of the phone.

4.0 out of 5 stars battery life, February 4, 2005
This review is from: SAMSUNG P735 T-MOBILE CELL PHONE (Electronics)
Did anybody else notice that the batter life is short? It only lasts me about 32 hrs and I don't even use the phone that often. Take two pics and talk for about 10 minutes and battery life is drained.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great phone, July 25, 2005
By
This review is from: SAMSUNG P735 T-MOBILE CELL PHONE (Electronics)
I think this is a great phone. It has great reception everywhere i go. I got this phone the other day and i am very happy with it. The camera is also very good for a camera phone. The user interface is exellent. My parents got Motorola Razr V3's and i had my phone and voicemail set up in half the time it took them to set up theirs. That just goes to show how good the Samsung UI is. The only thing that could have been improved on this phone is the addition of a speaker phone and Bluetooth, but i can live wihtout them. All in all this is an Exellent phone.

This is awsome I just got it and it is really cool. The camera is amazing you would swear it wasn't a phone picture. The mp3 looks cool though it is hard to link it to the com unless you have a port for that kind of memory card. This phone is sooooooooooooo hot defenatly worth it!!!
