4.0 out of 5 stars Works great for me
I purchased these to use with an old pair of Paradigm Titans I had laying around and wanted to mount for my home theater. I did not want to drill into the speakers, so I opted for this Sanus product instead. The instructions called for me to mount these with 4 lag bolts; pretty extreme for my uses. I only used 2 and I still think I can do chin ups on them. I...

1.0 out of 5 stars only for lightweight speaker
I put my brand new $400 a pair speakers on these. The weight and size fell within the Sanus parameters. I followed the instuction to the letter. One of the speakers came out and fell breaking the grill. Do not use these for larger speakers if you plan on angling them down. The clamping does not hold. I sent these back and purchased the Btech mounts. They cost more and are...

I bought a set of these and a set of the B-Tech's. I needed a heavy duty set and a lighter one and figured I'd save a few bucks with these for my rear speakers. BIG MISTAKE. Only saved $7.50 after shipping and the B-Techs are far superior. I really regrett it. Plus the B-Techs are easier to setup and more secure for the speaker.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ok, but not great., November 27, 2009

The installation was fairly straight forward, but the speakers are basically sitting on a couple of metal planks, and can be knocked down. I added velcro to the bottom of the speakers and secured them with straps.

They look nice, but I can't recommend them to anyone.

I can imagine the speaker becoming top heavy. However, for a litte pair of Titans, this is the ticket.
I would have welcomed extra brackets coming over the top of the speaker - this would have solved the problem of the other reviewer.
Sanus generally makes a sturdy, high quality product and these are no exception.

I purchased this product based on my experience with a Sanus flat screen TV mounting kit. I wasn't disappointed. Sanus makes an excellent product. Well engineered, good instructions, well identified parts. Easy installation.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the Job, July 9, 2011

This review is from: SANUS SYSTEMS WMS-2 Large Speaker Wall Mount (WMS2) - 2 speaker wall mounts per box (Electronics)
I recently installed L and R front speakers of my surround sound using this product, and it worked well for the application:

Pros:
1. It is solid - can probably hold 2 times the rated weight.
2. Looks good, the provided covers cover the screw mounts, it looks great.

Cons:
1. As noted by other reviewers the sideways swing on the speakers can be a problem if mounting at a lower heights where kids can run into them. The swing can be controlled by tightening down the main bolt, but only to a point (it will not swing by itself but can be moved with some effort, perfect for allowing adjustment at a height, by iffy at kit level).
2. The way I secured the speakers to the mount was by using the rubber padding (supplied with mounting hardware) both on speaker and mount and then having another person pressing the clamp tight while I secured it with the provided allen key. I tested the clamping by picking up the speaker in the upside down position with the mounting arm. If it appeared loose I loosed the screw and tried again (this was not in the instructions I had to come up with this trick). This was all done on the ground then the mounting arm was secured to the base (mounted on the wall).

So while mounting requires some improvisation, the product is solid and aesthetically pleasing.

Good Luck

Nice and strong but the adjustments for the extended arm is poor and not stable. This is somewhat scary using expensive speakers. I modified mine, once installed, I drilled a hole for a screw to go throught the slide portion. It won't slide out now! I wish it had some kind of locking device to hold the swing angle.

I'm always a little apprehensive from ordering from someone I'm not familiar... even though they are partnered with Amazon. But I really liked the deal for these speaker mounts and thought I would give them a try. I'm very happy I did. They were the best price I found and the items arrived in just a two days with only basic shipping via UPS (Shipped from Eagan, Mn to St. Louis Mo). I didn't expect that. I put the order in late Wednesday night and figured there was no way I would have it by the weekend, but to my surprise, it was waiting at home for me Friday afternoon! I was so happy for that as I was able to put these up without any issues that Saturday.

The instructions were very simple. All pictures with few if any wording, but still easy enough to follow. The speaker arm doesn't snug up tight with the wall mount so it has the ability to easily swing from side to side. I imagine it's designed this way, but I would prefer a snugger fit. Others may like it like this so that they can easily direct their speakers in a direction of choice. The wall brackets are built like a tank! I imagine if one were able to get all 4 bolts in a stud they would be able to hang from these! I only used one bolt for my small bookshelf speakers (under 20 lbs) and I'm confident that was plenty. These brackets may be overkill for my use. I may put the second bolt in just for peace of mind, but I don't see why 4 are necessary for small to mid-sized speakers. You really have to have some big time heavy speakers on this to need all bolts. So if you have some large and heavy speakers, I feel this bracket would be able to hold them up. The brackets are very adjustable and can take quite a range in size, but I wouldn't go larger then 10" on the base. Since these brackets seem to be able to handle larger speakers, I would have like to see a safety cable feature to attach just in case. One can easily fabricate a safety cable themselves, but it would have been nice to have it included.

Great and timely service can make or break a company and after my experience I will order from Price Pros again. Thank you for your prompt service and competitive prices.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sanus WMS-2, March 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: SANUS SYSTEMS WMS-2 Large Speaker Wall Mount (WMS2) - 2 speaker wall mounts per box (Electronics)
Purchased for my rear surround speaker for my basement home theater system. I needed a support that applied tension on the front and back of the speaker since the rear surround I use is a rhombus shape (angled sides).

The instructions were well laid out, but the verbiage is minimum and more detail would have been appreciated.

The unit itself is very heavy, but in a good way, very solid. The mounting screw bolts are 3/16" thick and made a very secure connection to the wall. I predrilled the mounting points into a stud and used a rachet wrench to tighten the bolts. It took a lot of turns, but I have no doubt that the mount will never come off the wall.

The rest of the installation went like a breeze, overall pretty well made, but I have a problem with the way tension is applied to the speaker in order to hold it in place. The allen screws provided don't really apply inward tension in order to hold the speaker. Instead, it just frames out the space where the speakers go. My other speaker mounts (Pinpoint AM-40) uses a screw system in order to apply inward tension to actually hold the speaker in the mount and I believe this way to be superior.

The cover plate was nice because there are removable inserts in order to run your speaker wire through the mount to the speaker back itself.

Overall I'm very pleased with the unit, I would suggest to Sanus that they redesign the tension system. The attachment to the wall was what impressed me the most, my surround speaker is about 10 lbs, but I think this mount could support much more than that when it is screwed into a stud. I would not suggest screwing this just into drywall with anchors. I could see it pulling out with too much weight.
