This book was recommended to me by a co-worker and I would like to recommend to any one who is interested to get started or gain expert level knowledge in SAP BW. Excellent book on this subject.

Excellent Book - Very Useful for SAP Basis for BW Administration.

This book is a must for every SAP BW Basis Administrators.

Chapter 4 covers Memory management.
Chapter 8 covers a lot of BW specific load analysis.
Chapter 9 covers indexes and database statistics for BW.
Chapter 11, 12, and 13 are good for performance (aggregates, compression, loading, extraction, etc.)

Money is well spent on this book.

Could be updated. As a matter of fact some of the performance statistics keep on evolving because of availability of better hardware. So the design decisions can change because of changes / improvements in hardware. Difficult to see how that can be addressed though!

Although this book covers only specific topic of performance in BW, it is the best BW book for experts published so far. I still believe it could be thicker and cover more details, but I do not complain about money I paid for it.

But when will we get book for SAP BI 7.x?
