A Waste of Company Money!,
By Aram Ausky (Prague, Czech Republic) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SAP R/3 Financial Accounting: Making it work for your business (SAP Press Business Roadmap) (Hardcover)
If my boss reads this review and finds out I'm wasting company money buying useless books like this I've got trouble. This book isn't a manual. This is a nice review of accounting in general and describes a few accounting functions. For example, it devotes six pages to a description of Bills of Exchange processing - good reading for anyone but not much about how to mechanically process them in SAP. It mentions SAP, but if you think you'll learn how to use the FI module by reading this book, forget it.

It is not what you are looking for,
By Michiko "Donna" (Houston, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SAP R/3 Financial Accounting: Making it work for your business (SAP Press Business Roadmap) (Hardcover)
Whatever it is you think this book is about, it is not what you think it is. The book does not talk much about the SAP R/3 system at all, but a mix of some basic accounting concepts and a little bit of SAP screen shots. Fortunately I borrowed this book from the library, otherwise I really would be kicking myself for shelling out $ for this useless book. If you want to learn about SAP R/3 system, you probably have better luck in your company's training classes. The only useful part I got from this book is a listing of all the posting keys.
SAP is not a bad system, it is just very complicated and the training is dismal at best. I wish someone will write a better introductory book. (Review on December 7, 2005)
