4.0 out of 5 stars The history of the 'United Nations of the Air', June 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The SAS Saga: A History of Scandinavian Airlines System (Hardcover)
This book was published in celebration of Scandinavian Airlines' 25th anniversary in 1971. The story starts from the very beginning in 1919, when Danish Airlines was founded, then takes us through the long negotiations and trouble of forming the tri-nation airline which took to the air in September, 1946. The reader is then given an insight into the airline's activites during the 1960's. The book is illustrated with b/w photos and is recommended for anyone interested in how the first multi-national airline in the world was formed. Now, all that's missing is a book dealing with SAS history from 1971 onwards.
