If you are looking for a basic, non RAID, SATA PCI card for your external SATA drives, this is a good choice.

Easy to setup, plug it in, load the drivers and away you go.

This card arrived today with drivers that are incompatible with Vista, despite this product's April 2006 release date. Same story at the Promise website, which seems to be crashing sort of constantly.

The card is fine the support by the company is non-existant, 2 emails no reponse. If you are going to buy be sure you understand that this is not a raid controller of any kind and is 4 Jbod or individual drives. I will be giving this to my younger son, as a faster version of a USB controller along with a E sata external drive and have bought a raid controller with
PCI Serial ATA (SATA2) 4 Channel Controller Card with RAID function, and SIL3124 Chipset
