I bought this VidPro SB-10 after a LOT of research. One suggestion for sure, don't waste your money.

The idea behind this unit is great, it looks nice and is built fairly well considering its price point. The problem is that you cannot adjust the camera side to side. Yes, you can adjust the counter weights on the bottom, but there is SO much work that has to go into adjusting it perfectly, there is no fine adjustment, which is a MUST as far as I am concerned.

Another thing that REALLY bugged me is that the handle does not have much play. The ball bearing inside is not perfectly round, you can feel it when you have your camera on it, if you roll your wrist slightly forward or backwards, there is a bit of a snag, like the top of the ball is flat. Not a good thing when you are looking for a fluid motion.

The handle does not have much play. I film weddings, so I am constantly following my subjects at a high rate of speed, and rolling my wrist to get smooth clean shots, this unit does NOT allow for that. When you tilt the handle any direction, forwards, back, left, or right, the handle only goes so far. Sometimes I need to get way down low, bending down so the handle is parallel to the ground. In many other units, when the camera is mounted, and the handle is tilted parallel to the ground, the camera still points straight forward. In this unit, because of how little play there is in the handle housing, if you have to get down low, and position the handle where it is parallel to the ground, the camera tilts forward.

I ended up getting a Polaroid unit for $100 which was WELL worth the extra money.

If you are going to be using a stabilizer often, you NEED something that will give you smooth shots. Many budgets, as well as mine, don't always allow for the pricy equipment. In this case, you will get your money out of it if you spend a little more money. Don't buy this one, I promise you'll be disappointed.

This is a very in-depth review. Look no further.

I bought this item about six months back - was extremely eager to learn new shooting techniques so when I heard of the weighted camera stabilizer, I hopped on the study train and did as much homework as I could before finally settling on this, the Vidpro SB-10. Now for what it is, I want to say upfront that it's definitely worth the purchase. Whether you've been using stabilizers for a while or you're new to the whole idea, this is a great learning tool.

I want to also say before anything else that a device like this takes a lot of time and patience to 'master'. One cannot buy this and understand all aspects of how to get your desired 'perfect' shot in one day. There is a ton of trial and error involved, mounds of frustration, and even the urge to return it when you can't get the hang of it. Don't give in to your mind! You must crawl before you walk and walk before you run.

With that being said...
First off, the grip it comes with is very comfortable to hold with one hand, which also aides in making it easy to twist and turn the stabilizer as you walk and move. It comes with three different weights to counter-balance your camera. Pay attention to the weight of your camera and your lens. You will need a lens that has a wider angle than a standard lens so that camera shake is less noticeable. Pairing this device with a 35mm or even a 24mm is not going to work.

The padding which sits between the base of the camera and the rig looks great when you first get it, but be aware that eventually, it is going to peel off. When it does, you will realize somewhere between material type and costs of creation, they cheaped out in that area.

Item delivered on time, was as described, great customer service. Just what I needed for the price!!! I saw something just like this in the store for about $400, but this was great for a person on a small budget. Handles fantastically! Once you figure out how to place everything in the proper place.

Exactly what I was looking for! This device is extremely customizable and works as advertised. I am using it in conjunction with a Canon 6D + 24-105mm + microphone attachment. It isn't quite maxed out on weight with my setup, which was by biggest worry before buying.

To make it work a little smoother, i put some WD40 in the ball joint.

It's not a Wizard but for the price it is an outstanding product. I would most definitely tell both beginners and pros that this item is a more than worth while product.

This is great for point and shoot cameras and small body DSLR's. If you are using pro body's this will not be enough to provide stability.

I have used this a little so far but found it to work as I needed. It was easy to set up and didn't take much of a learning curve to use.

(Good)
For the price, this steady cam device works satisfactory for what it is. The construction is quite good.
(Bad)
Hard to find balance with my dslr.
I had try all the settings, but still if i push the cam forward or run it lost the balance.
