fabulous all-around rock shoe,

Wonderful shoe, that fits like a glove (the pull-tight heel strap really works). (Order a half size smaller than your street shoes as this is all-leather and will stretch some. I wear size 12 regular shoes and am happy with my size 45 Technos) I got this shoe for all day trad climbs, but find I use it for everything (except the routes I need the extra psychup on - when I use my extra-tight size 44 Scarpa Visons). Edges and frictions well, beautifully crafted and looks like they'll last me years.

Great Rock Climbing Shoes!,
This review is from: SCARPA Men's Techno Climbing Shoe (Apparel)
I bought a pair of these and like ANY rock climbing shoes, it's important to make sure the size fits. These are not sneakers and you will most likely need a different size. I wouldn't call that a negative, it's just the way rock climbing shoes are.
The Scarpa Techno are AMAZING, DEFINITELY worth the price. :) The fit, grip, surface and give are all wonderful. I use these as my primary shoe and haven't looked back. I will DEFINITELY get another pair.

A fantastic performance lace shoe,

Let me start by saying I am largely an indoor-boulder climber and my main shoes are the La Sportiva Miura VS, one of the hardest and most aggressive shoes on the market. I do some outdoor climbing and a decent amount of routes. Now that I have purchased the Technos, they have largely replaced my Miura VS's. The edging on them is superb, and while not as aggressive as the Miura, it still supports my full weight on most jibs. The smearing is not as good as my Miuras, but still more than adequate. They are fairly comfortable. My favorite thing about them is definitely the extra lace on the heels, which you can tighten to avoid those awkward moments of slippage on hard heel-hooks.
The worst thing about the shoes is probably one of the biggest features, which is the low profile on the shoe. It is very narrow and intense, which is fantastic for crack climbs and little edges, but for some people, can get uncomfortable after a while. However, as long as you're willing to deal with a little pain and blistering, these shoes are INCREDIBLE. Definitely a fantastic performance shoe. Also, while I've only been using them for a few months, I see NO degradation, even after a fair amount of climbing.

I really want to love them,
This review is from: SCARPA Men's Techno Climbing Shoe (Apparel)
I love these shoes. They're comfy, have great articulation with the fit with the laces and heel strap able to adjust to your foot in almost any orientation, and have great rubber. However, the fit doesn't work for me. They're too narrow in the toes. My foot isn't really wide, but they're too wide for these shoes. Also, the shape of the toe towards the outside means that anything small you want to catch requires you to point your toe straight at the wall. My La Sportiva Venoms allow for a much more relaxed stance when edging. These are great trad shoes (if they don't kill your feet), but not great for sport. You'll have to go down a couple of sizes when buying Scarpa, but don't go down too much because these shoes don't stretch as much as you would hope. Normally I wear a 41 street shoe and I tried on the 39s, 38.5 and finally settled on the 38s, thinking they'd stretch a lot. Maybe I should've stuck with 38.5, but they were a little loose in the heel. With the heel strap, I could've fixed that. Oops! For perspective, my Venoms are 39.
