Purchased this for a trip that included a month straight of camping and hiking in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. The stability and comfort that this boot provided me cannot be beat! We hiked over talus beds that had very large, slippery clasts at steep slopes, and these boots kept me firmly planted and prevented me from rolling my ankles. Other people were very envious, as their hiking boots did not fare as well.
I replaced the insoles with some Profoot ones, and they worked perfect - very comfortable, and we were hiking at least 8 hours a day, up and down mountains, in valleys, dry riverbeds, everything imaginable. I wore double-layer Wright socks and never got a blister, either. They worked great in the mud and rain, as well. Kept my feet dry and comfortable. I can't say enough good things about this boot!
