Great aggressive shoe, October 7, 2011
This review is from: SCARPA Women's Rockette Lady Climbing Shoe (Apparel)
The shoe is much more aggressive than it appears in those pictures above. It's probably one of the most down-turned shoes available, so if you're looking for down-turned, this is the one you want.
The shoe will stretch (unlined), but not too much. I sized to my street shoe size (5.5 Women's US). Because of the down-turn, you don't really need to size down.
Pros:
- Rubber is fantastic. It will literally stick to anything. It's an incredible shoe for overhangs and high-level bouldering. This is the rubber that will let you find all the in-between "foot holds" that aren't really foot holds.
- The shape of the toe is awesome. Makes for very accurate toe-ing.
- I've seen my footwork improve while in this shoe. And it's important that the shoe sticks so well -- I trust my feet better on slab or otherwise.
- Velcro always is nice 'cause it lets you get in and out quickly.
Cons:
- Not sure how long the rubber will last though, since it is so sticky. I've had mine for under a year, but am starting to see some wear and tear.
- The heel sucks for me. It's deep to a point that my heel is hollow. So, if you're a heel hook person, you might wanna stay away from this shoe. If you're a toe person, this shoe rocks.
- The toes really hurt after a while. I usually take this shoe outdoors bouldering, and by the end of the day, I can barely stand to put the shoe on, much less CLIMB in it.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this =)

waaayyyy tooo small, February 15, 2011
This review is from: SCARPA Women's Rockette Lady Climbing Shoe (Apparel)
Buyer beware. These shoes are tight!!! Knowing that they are an aggressive shoe, order at least a full shoe size up. I ordered my standard size and my toes achingly dug in the front and heel cut in the back. I'm an 8, i would order a 9 or 9.5 size. Sooo tiny!
