First Tee is an excellent name for this nutrition bar. The idea at the first tea is to calm down, focus, and provide some energy for the rest of the round. Although this is marketed as a golf bar, it is a nice nutrition bar anytime calm and focus is a good thing.

Chamomile, hops, and valerian root have all been traditionally used to help people calm down and focus. There is a good dose of B vitamins (about 40% RDA). Vitamin C is a natural stimulant for energy (100% RDA). Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Folate, Biotin, and Pantothenic Acid are all at roughly 40% RDA.

The bar has 290 calories, 70 calories from fat, and 180mg of sodium. The first few ingredients are sweeteners (total carb, 44gm and sugars 17gm). Most of these sports bars are pretty loaded with sweeteners, to mask the horrible vitamin pack flavor.

The bar tastes really good. It is a blend of chocolate with a hint of peanut over rice crispies. The bar is soft with a little bit of crunch.

Mr. fifteen year old golfer loves these and claims it helps his golf score. Dad likes the flavor and is willing to support things at this price point Mr. fifteen year old believes helps his game (it sure beats out the cost of Titleist Pro V1x's).

For years my 13 year old son has refused to eat during a golf tournament and he is normally fatigued before the tournament end. This is the first product that he remembers to include in his bag. It seems to give him enough energy to finish the round without losing focus and he loves the taste!
